    • In one embodiment an electronic device comprises a housing having a first section comprising a display and a second section comprising a keyboard coupled to the first section by a hinge assembly and an automatic hinge opening assembly for the housing. The automat hinge opening assembly comprises a hinge pin assembly mountable to the first section of the housing of the electronic device a pin rotatable about an axis between a first position and a second position and a hinge plate coupled to the pin and connectable to a hinge which connects the first section of the housing to a second section of the housing, and at least one torsion member coupled to the pin to apply a torque to the pin, wherein the torsion member is to store potential energy when the first section of the housing and the second section of the housing are in a closed position. Other embodiments may be described.

    • A tilt-up door for a building having a relatively wide door opening having a door panel including top and bottom horizontal members and vertical side members connected to the top and bottom horizontal members. The vertical side members each include a pivot point, affixed to pivot translation points which move upward or downward when an actuator is activated, such that first and second cams, each connected to one of the at least two vertical side members of said tilt-up door, each affixed at its lower aspect to each side member at a position at or slightly above the center point of the door frame, and each cam extending upwardly and arcuately toward the interior of the building, to a point in space where said cam contacts a cam follower extended inwardly at approximately a right angle with respect to both the adjacent top horizontal members of the door frame, and to the Support Structure or stile to which it is fixed at its proximate end, thereby guiding the door as it is moved between its substantially open substantially horizontal position, and to be lowered into its substantially vertical substantially closed position. Each pivot translation point is lifted or lowered by means of an actuator, such as a screw, chain or hydraulic system, depending upon the needs of the user or environment, which causes the door to open or close. The door panel contains an integral track or cam which is substantially elliptical having a radius such that each integral track rides on a stationary roller which allows the panel to tilt into position. The actuation system is mounted on or in columns on either side of the door to allow the door to move into the various open and closed positions.

    • A system for thermal energy storage is disclosed herein. The system includes an electronic device and a docking station to receive the electronic device. The electronic device contains a device thermal-energy storage material to absorb thermal energy from the electronic device. The electronic device is to thermally couple to the docking station. The docking station contains a dock thermal-energy storage material. The state transition temperature of the dock thermal-energy storage material is lower than the state transition temperature of the device thermal-energy storage material such that thermal energy is transferred from the device thermal-energy storage material to the dock thermal-energy storage material.
