    • A silkscreen printing machine having a large printing table and a stencil related thereto stretched across said table, said machine being provided with means for moving a squeegee relative to said stencil and for pressing printing ink through the stencil into a material to be printed upon placed on said table. During a printing sequence, and at least during the first and latter stages of said sequence when the squeegee is pressed into abutment with the stencil and when the stencil, located parallel with the printing table is caused to sag by its own weight to an extent such that the stencil at other regions than the engagement point of the squeegee should abut the material or the printing table, the stencil is arranged to adopt an oblique position relative to the printing table such that the angle between said stencil and said table at said squeegee engagement point exceeds 0.degree., meaning that the stencil abuts solely the material at the said engagement point. The movement of the frame is controlled by a plurality of operating rods, whose actuation is dependent upon movement of the squeegee and its position along the stencil.

    • The present invention refers to an arrangement for determining the thickness of a print applied to a print carrier. The applied print whose thickness is to be determined is orientated in a manner which enables the print to be irradiated with light, e.g. light beams, emitted from a light source; in that the light is projected onto the print at an angle not greater than 90.degree. in relation to a line orientated at right angles to the horizontal plane of the print; in that the respective magnitudes of a shadow image of the print thickness, produced by said light beams, and the extension of said shadow image along the carrier are evaluated together with information relating to the prevailing angle of the light beams; and in that the height or thickness of the print above the surface of the carrier is established on the basis of the thus evaluated magnitudes.

    • A drier intended for drying printing ink applied to a material by a printing machine, incorporating a conveyor device consisting of a support for the material as it passes through the drier and at least two organs which emit ultra-violet radiation, UV radiation, for the purpose of drying and/or hardening the printing ink. These two organs which emit UV radiation are located at such a distance from each other that a material which has passed beneath the first organ, where it has been exposed on the one hand to UV radiation for the purpose of hardening the printing ink and on the other hand to the heat emitted by the organ which emits UV radiation, will be able to pass through a section which will cause the temperature of the material to fall before the material passes beneath the second organ.

    • Method and arrangement for positioning a second pattern (10a) originating from a first pattern formed on a stencil in relation to a material (8) intended for the pattern. Said second pattern (10a) is formed by causing a coating intended for the material to pass through the first pattern, for example by means of a scraper blade in a silk screen printing machine. The position of the second pattern (10a) relative to a reference point, usually the frame components of the printing machine, is stored in an organ. Once a sheet of material to which the second pattern (10a) is to be transferred has been moved into the printing position, the position of the material or of a pattern which has already been applied to it is evaluated together with any discrepancy which would arise if the second pattern (10a) were to be applied to that material in that position. A frame holding the stencil and/or a printing table and/or the material is displaced or is caused to move in some other way into a position dependent on the size and direction of the discrepancy such that, when the second pattern (10a) is applied to the material, said pattern will adopt a position on the material in which any previously identified discrepancy has been compensated for fully or to a satisfactory extent.
