摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image bearer, an exposure device, a (hive device, a cleaning body, and an exposure device holder. The exposure device is disposed on a motion trajectory between an exposure position and a retracted position and emits light to the image bearer via a lens having a lens surface at the exposure position. The drive device causes the exposure device to move between the exposure position and the retracted position. The cleaning body disposed on the motion trajectory of the exposure device tilts a cleaning surface when contacting with the lens surface of the exposure device. The exposure device holder supports the exposure device while changing an attitude of the exposure device such that the lens surface remains in contact with the cleaning surface of the cleaning body when the exposure device moves from the retracted position to the exposure position.

摘要： A casing structure, an optical scanner, and an image forming apparatus. The casing structure includes a casing having an opening, a cover that covers the opening of the casing, and a seal disposed between the casing and the cover. In the casing structure, the cover is openable and closable with respect to the casing, and the seal contacting the casing and the cover when the cover is closed. In the casing structure, the casing or the cover including at least one portion contained in the seal in a cross section taken in a direction the cover is opened or closed. The optical scanner includes the casing structure. In the optical scanner, the casing stores a plurality of components to be applied to an image forming apparatus, and the cover has an optical element through which light passes. The image forming apparatus includes the optical scanner.

摘要： An optical writing unit includes in a housing a light source projecting a light beam, a deflector to deflect the light beam projected from the light source, a focusing lens, and a lens adjusting device. The focusing lens is long in a main scanning direction and focuses the light beam onto a scan target. The lens adjusting device rotates the focusing lens about a substantially center portion thereof as a rotation fulcrum on a plane perpendicular to an optical path of the light beam so as to adjust the position of the light beam illuminating the scan target. The focusing lens has an asymmetric cross-section relative to a center line of the focusing lens in a direction of the optical path in a sub-scanning plane perpendicular to the main scanning direction, and the center of gravity of the focusing lens is offset from the center line toward the rotation fulcrum.
