Desulfating the NOx adsorber can comprise determining an amount of oxygen needed to increase an initial temperature of a NOx adsorber to a desulfation temperature of greater than or equal to about 600° C., producing reformate comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide in an on-board reformer, introducing the amount of oxygen to the NOx adsorber, and introducing a sufficient amount of reformate to the NOx adsorber to attain an air to fuel ratio that is less than a combustion stoichiometric A/F ratio.

In one exemplary embodiment, a method includes receiving an oscillatory signal at an inductance-capacitance-resistance circuit. The method further includes generating a resonant current at a resonant frequency utilizing the circuit in response to the oscillatory signal. The method further includes determining a concentration value indicating the concentration of the biodiesel in the mixture based on an amplitude of the resonant current and/or the resonant frequency, utilizing a microprocessor. The method further includes storing the concentration value in a memory device, utilizing the microprocessor.

摘要： An exhaust gas treatment system includes a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst and a dosing control responsive to exhaust gas operating conditions for controlling the dosing rate of a reductant such as aqueous urea into the exhaust stream. The dosing control is configured to reduce the dosing rate when either a sudden increase in the exhaust mass air flow is detected or when an exhaust gas temperature gradient is in an increasing state. The dosing control is also configured to shut-off dosing when a measured ammonia concentration level exceeds an ammonia slip trip level, provided that the exhaust gas temperature gradient is also in an increasing state.

摘要： A useful partial oxidation catalyst element includes a catalyst component, a support component, and a substrate. The catalyst component is formed by combining a catalytically active metal with a first support material to form a mixture and calcining the mixture. The support component is formed by calcining a second support material, not containing the active metal. The first and second support materials include particles having an average particle diameter of less than 20 microns. A catalyst material is formed by combining the catalyst component and the support component, wherein the catalyst material contains less than 20% of the catalyst component by weight. The catalyst material is applied to a substrate configured for gas flow therethrough, thereby formulating the partial oxidation catalyst element. The partial oxidation catalyst element is especially useful for fuel reforming and fuel cell applications.
