摘要： The present invention relates to a nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing new additives and a lithium secondary battery including the same. More particularly, the invention relates to a nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing a lithium salt, an electrolyte compound, a first additive compound with an oxidation initiation potential of more than 4.2 V, and a second additive compound with an oxidation initiation potential of more than 4.2 V, which is higher in oxidation initiation potential than the first additive, and deposits oxidative products or form a polymer film, in oxidation, as well as a lithium secondary battery including the same. The present invention can provide a lithium secondary battery excellent in both the battery performance and the battery safety in overcharge by the combined use of the first additive and the second battery as additives to the nonaqueous electrolyte solution.

摘要： A secondary battery comprising a battery package which encloses the outer perimeter of the secondary battery and covers the entire outer surface of positive and negative electrodes and a portion of each terminal of the positive and negative electrodes, wherein the battery package is formed of a laminate film comprising an outer polymer layer, an inner aluminum layer and an adhesive layer formed on a portion of the inner surface of the aluminum layer, the aluminum layer of the battery package being electrically connected with either of the positive and negative is provided. Alternatively, at least one electrically conductive metal foil on at least one of the outer upper and lower surfaces of the battery package is provided.

摘要： Disclosed herein is an electrolyte for lithium secondary batteries comprising: a chelating agent, which forms complexes with transition metal ions in the battery, and at the same time does not react and coordinate with lithium ions; a non-aqueous solvent; and an electrolyte salt, as well as a lithium secondary battery comprising the electrolyte. The chelating agent, which is contained in the electrolyte for lithium secondary batteries, can suppress a side reaction in which transition metal ions are reduced and deposited as transition metals on the anode. Also, the chelating agent can suppress internal short-circuits in the battery and the resulting voltage drop of the battery and a reduction in the safety and performance of the battery, which can occur when transition metals are deposited on the anode.

摘要： The present invention is an apparatus for protecting a secondary battery, in which, when the secondary battery such as a lithium-ion secondary battery is exposed to high temperature exceeding a working range due to a change in external environment, external impacts, and so on, or heated due to spontaneous generation of heat caused by internal defects, the secondary battery is discharged. The apparatus includes a thyristor or transistor having an anode and a cathode connected both terminals of the secondary battery respectively, and shorting both terminals of the secondary battery when gate current is supplied, and a temperature sensor detecting temperature of the secondary battery and supplying the gate current to the thyristor or transistor when the detected temperature is higher than predetermined temperature.

摘要： Disclosed is a battery safety device having a first metal plate, a second metal plate, and a pressure-sensitive conducting film interposed between both metal plates and adapted to exhibit electrical conductivity when a predetermined pressure or higher is applied. The first and second metal plates are electrically connected to the positive and negative electrodes of the battery, respectively. The safety device connected to a battery prevents the battery from being damaged or at least from igniting or exploding, even when an external impact caused by pressure, a nail, or a nipper or an external pressure is applied to the battery, by conducting the current of the battery to the safety device and discharging the battery before the battery is damaged by the external impact or external pressure.

The protection circuit includes: means having one end connected to a first electrode of the secondary battery, for restricting electric current; switching means for connecting a second electrode of the secondary battery to a first outer electrode, or to the current restriction means in response to temperature; and a conducting wire for connecting the first electrode of the secondary battery to a second outer electrode.

The safety device includes a voltage sensitive heating device generating heat when a voltage difference between both ends thereof exceeds a predetermined voltage level and a temperature sensitive device having a reversible current ON/OFF function according to a temperature. The temperature sensitive device is coupled with the voltage sensitive heating device such that the temperature sensitive device detects the heat generated from the voltage sensitive heating device.
