    • In a dubbing apparatus capable of prohibiting next high-speed dubbing of a piece of data once completing high-speed dubbing for a predetermined period of time in a process of high-speed dubbing from a first recording medium to a second recording medium, such a piece of data cannot be dubbed at a high speed but can be dubbed at an ordinary speed during the predetermined period of time in response to a request for re-dubbing of the piece of data at the high speed. It is thus possible to achieve an object of the dubbing apparatus to protect a copyright for prohibiting an operation to copy data to a plurality of recording mediums at one time. When the user issues a command to again carry out high-speed dubbing of pieces of data, high-speed dubbing of pieces of data once subjected to high-speed dubbing during the predetermined period of time is deferred. Pieces of data not subjected to high-speed dubbing during the predetermined period of time are dubbed at a high speed, taking precedence of the pieces of data once subjected to high-speed dubbing during the predetermined period of time.

    • Disclosed are an arithmetic unit and an arithmetic processing method. In the arithmetic unit, in linear interpolation of a parameter of a pixel to be used to plot an object in a three-dimensional video, an operation result value can be fixed in response to a particular gradient value of the parameter and power consumption arising from charging and discharging through a clock wiring line can be reduced. The arithmetic unit includes an arithmetic operation element for linearly interpolating a parameter of a pixel in a triangle based on coordinate values of a vertex of the triangle and gradient values of the parameters in X and Y directions, a clock supply element for supplying a clock signal to the arithmetic operation element, a detection element for detecting a particular gradient value of the parameter in the X direction or/and the Y direction, and a control element for controlling the clock supply element in response to a gradient value of the parameter detection signal received from the detection element. The control element stops the clock signal when null0null is detected as the gradient value of the parameter in the X direction or/and as the gradient value of the parameter in the Y direction and within a period within which such null0null continues to be detected.
