    • An antenna has a central core with a central coupling region. At least one pair of radiating antenna lines is formed a surface of the central core in a helix structure. A circuit board has a protruding structure and is electrically coupled to the pair of radiating antenna lines. The protruding structure of the circuit board affixes into the central coupling region of the central core, and a signal input/output (I/O) end of the antenna is on the circuit board. The circuit board has a balun transformer, preferably using the LC resonators in two paths with a desired equivalent resonant length, so as to preferably produce the difference by half wavelength.

    • A second-order bandpass filter having an improved frequency response is disclosed, in which a grounding capacitor is connected electrically to a two-port network as a feedback path so as to provide two finite transmission zeros. With the two transmission zeros, signals of second harmonic frequency and GSM signals may be blocked out from the pass band of the filter and thus filtered out. As such, the filter may be utilized in wireless local area network (WLAN) application. Further, since no extremely small value component is used within the filter, the frequency response may not be influenced by a manufacturing process of the filter. In addition, the thus formed filter has a relatively smaller volume.

    • Disclosed is a planar inverted-F antenna with an extended grounding plane. The planar inverted-F antenna has a grounding metal plate having a selected side edge on which the extended grounding plane is formed and has a predetermined height. At least one antenna signal radiating plate is connected to the grounding metal plate by a short-circuit piece and is substantially parallel to and spaced from the grounding metal plate by a distance. A feeding point extends from the antenna signal radiating plate in a direction toward the grounding metal plate and corresponds to the extended grounding plane with a predetermined gap therebetween. With the arrangement of the extended grounding plane, the impedance matching of the antenna is improved and the impedance bandwidth of the antenna is increased.

    • A printed monopole smart antenna is provided. The smart antenna includes a monopole antenna having a plane for receiving and transmitting a signal, two conductors for directing and/or reflecting the signal to the monopole antenna respectively, and a circuit device electrically connected between the first and second conductors, for selectively switching the first and second conductors to determine an operation mode of the smart antenna. The smart antenna further has at least a groove in the ground for concentrating the current distribution and solving the influence of the antenna gain to the ground size. The sequence of the antenna pattern of the smart antenna is randomly arranged, depending on user's situation. When a plurality of printed monopole smart antennas are disposed on different directions of the WLAN AP/router, the omnidirectional radiation pattern will be obtained and the antenna gain will be increased.
