    • Disclosed is a laser radar device including a modulated light beam generator that emits light beams to a target, a photodetector that receives reflected light; a reflected light condenser that condenses the reflected light; a rotator that rotates around a rotation axis; and mirrors included in the rotator that scan the light beams, and guide the reflected light to the reflected light condenser, wherein an angular detection range in a vertical direction is divided into a plurality of layers, wherein mirror surfaces of the mirrors are tilted by corresponding tilt angles relative to the rotation axis, the tilt angles being different from each other, wherein the modulated light beam generator emits the light beams in the vertical direction, the light beams having different emission angles, and wherein a difference between the emission angles corresponds to the angular detection range of one layer in the vertical direction.

    • An imaging system includes incidence faces composed of optical faces having an image focusing function; prisms; and exit faces. The incidence faces are arranged with a first pitch along a first axial direction. The prisms are arranged with a second pitch along the first axial direction. The exit faces are arranged with a third pitch along the first axial direction. The first axial direction is set as a Y direction. A normal line direction of a face top of an optical face of the incidence face in a plane perpendicular to the first axial direction is set as a X direction. A direction perpendicular to the Y direction and the X direction is set as a Z direction. In a XZ cross-section plane, a width of the prism in the Z direction is smaller than a width of optical face of the incidence face in the Z direction.

    • An aperture has an aperture opening that transmits a predetermined portion of a light beam. A phase optical element changes a phase of a portion of a light beam. A scanning lens focuses the light beam into a beam spot on a scanning surface. The phase optical element has a function of increasing light intensity of a side-lobe of the scanning beam near the scanning surface. The aperture opening is set to satisfy 0.03≦(SR−SA)/SR≦0.20, where SR and SA are areas of a rectangle circumscribing the aperture opening and the aperture opening, respectively. The function of the phase optical element and the aperture expand a depth allowance of the beam spot.

    • An image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier unit that includes an image carrier that is to be rotated about a rotational driving shaft; a charging unit; an exposing unit including a light source substrate and a lens array; a developing unit; a transfer unit; and a fixing unit. The image carrier unit can be pulled out along the rotational driving shaft of the image carrier. The exposing unit is movable between a contacting position, at which the exposing unit abuts on a contacting surface of the image carrier unit to be positioned relative to the image carrier, and a retracted position, at which the exposing unit is away from the image carrier unit. At the contacting position, the contacting surface is closer to the exposing unit in an optical axial direction than a surface of the lens array is.
