    • A blood pressure monitor is provided with a box-shaped housing having openings formed in left and right side walls, a cuff transversely arranged in the housing and including an arm entrance and an arm exit at the opposite left and right ends corresponding to the openings. The cuff is formed with a blood flow blocking bag in a specified area. The opposite ends of the cuff is taken up by a cuff take-up drum such that the blood flow blocking bag extends along the outer circumferential surface of the inserted arm at the time of a measurement and a compressed air is supplied to the blood flow blocking bag to block the blood flow. The blood pressure monitor is further provided with at least one of a fastening force adjusting construction for adjusting a force of the cuff to evenly fasten the arm or the like of the measurer, a construction for preventing the epidermis part of the arm from getting in the cuff, a construction for suppressing the consumption of an electric power, and a construction for fixing a measuring position.

    • A blood pressure manometer comprises a body and a separate display, and the body and separate display are provided with first and second communication parts, respectively. The first communication part has a light emitting element and is configured so that the element sends an infrared signal including blood pressure data. The second communication part has a light receiving element and is configured so that the light receiving element receives the infrared signal including the blood pressure data from the first communication part. The light emitting element is supported by the body to be opposite a subject even if a blood pressure measuring portion of the body measures the subject's blood pressure from any of the subject's left and right regions. The light receiving element is supported by the separate display to received the infrared signal which is sent from the light emitting element to be reflected on the subject.

    • The blood pressure measuring device comprises a main device 1, and a separate device 2 capable of being used separately from the main device 1. The main device and the separate device have a wireless communication means 11 and 12, respectively. At least one device of the main device and the separate device has a power switch, and one device having the power switch is activated when the power switch is operated, and then the one device transmits a start signal to the other device by the wireless communication. The other device shifts periodically from a power-off state to a power-on state on its own when in the power-off state to check the start signal, and it is activated if it receives the start signal when it shifts to the power-on state. The one device transmits the start signal continuously over a period longer than a period during which the power switch is operated to activate the one device.
