    • An information processing apparatus includes the following elements. A generation unit generates a multiplexed video frame having a predetermined screen size, and inserts first information regarding a configuration of the multiplexed video frame into the multiplexed video frame. A first multiplexing unit arranges one frame of input video data in the multiplexed video frame, multiplexes data of the frame so as to be transmitted as data of the multiplexed video frame corresponding to an arrangement position, and inserts second information regarding the arrangement position and third information regarding a format of the video data into a multiplexed video frame obtained after multiplexing. A processing unit extracts the data of the frame multiplexed in the multiplexed video frame obtained after multiplexing, which is input from an input video port, in accordance with the first information, the second information, and the third information, and performs processing on the extracted data.

    • An information processing apparatus includes the following elements. A generation unit generates a multiplexed video frame having a predetermined screen size. A dividing unit divides input audio data into audio data items each having samples for one frame period of the multiplexed video frame. A multiplexing unit multiplexes audio data items obtained by dividing each stream of input audio data and number-of-samples information representing the number of samples thereof. A processing unit processes audio data items multiplexed in a multiplexed video frame input from an input video port, and outputs from an output video port thereof a multiplexed video frame in which the resulting audio data items and the number-of-samples information thereof are multiplexed. An extraction unit extracts the audio data items multiplexed in the multiplexed video frame output from the processing unit in accordance with the number-of-samples information. A transmission unit outputs the extracted audio data items to outside.

A video signal is stored in a video signal storage unit and a key signal is stored in a key signal storage unit. The read-out addresses for the information concerning an upper picture of the transformed picture and the information concerning a lower picture of the transformed picture and also the information concerning the depth are generated by a read-out address generating unit. The key signal read out from the key signal storage unit and the video signal read out from the video signal storage unit are respectively divided by a dividing unit into upper and lower key signals and upper and lower video signals responsive to the read-out address for the upper picture and read-out address for the lower picture. The upper picture and the lower picture are synthesized by a picture synthesizing unit using the upper and lower key signals and the upper and lower key signals divided by the dividing unit. The synthesized picture synthesized by the picture synthesizing unit is freed of unnecessary portions depending on the depth information generated by the read-out address generating unit for generating the transformed picture.
