摘要： A bicycle shift control device is provided for a transmission actuating member, wherein the transmission actuating member moves to a plurality of transmission actuating positions for moving a bicycle transmission to a plurality of transmission positions. The shift control device comprises an operator attachment element that moves among a first operator attachment position, a second operator attachment position, and a third operator attachment position for causing an operation of the transmission actuating member. The second operator attachment position is disposed on a first path of movement from the first operator attachment position, and the third operator attachment position is disposed on a second path of movement from the first operator attachment position. The first path of movement is different from the second path of movement. An operating mechanism operates the operator attachment element so that the operator attachment element can move from the first operator attachment position toward the second operator attachment position and from the first operator attachment position toward the third operator attachment position. A default operator attachment element positioning mechanism sets the operator attachment element to the first operator attachment position when the operating mechanism is in an idle state.

The second operating member is operatively coupled to the first operating member to move with the first operating member during movement of the first operating member, and to move the first operating member during movement of the second operating member. The shift wire take-up element is rotated in a first rotational direction by the first operating member and in a second rotational direction that is opposite to the first rotational direction by the second operating member. The wire winding/release mechanism is operatively coupled to the shift wire take-up element and the first and second operating members to selectively hold the shift wire take-up element in one of a plurality of shift positions.

A second operating member is also preferably operatively coupled to the winding mechanism. The cable winding mechanism is mounted on a first pivot axle and is configured to be selectively retained in a plurality of shift positions. In one shift operating device, the operating link is pivotally mounted on the first pivot axle. In an alternate shift operating device, the operating link is pivotally mounted on a second pivot axle that is spaced from the first pivot axle and parallel to the first pivot axle. The first operating member is preferably arranged to reciprocate in a first direction. The second operating member is preferably arranged to move in a second direction that is substantially parallel to the first direction.

A rotating member engaging member moves between a rotating member engaging position and a rotating member disengaging position, and a motion transmitting mechanism is provided for transmitting motion from the rotating member engaging member to the output transmission member. A switching mechanism is provided for moving the rotating member engaging member to the rotating member engaging position when the input transmission member is in one of the first input position, second input position or third input position and the output transmission member is not in the corresponding first output position, second output position, or third output position, and for moving the rotating member engaging member to the rotating member disengaging position when the input transmission member is in one of the first input position, second input position or third input position and the output transmission member is in the corresponding first output position, second output position, or third output position.
