    • Disclosed is a data distribution apparatus delivering multicast data to a terminal belonging to a multicast group, including: a table generating unit to generate a table including a source address (SA) of the terminal and a destination address (DA) for requesting the multicast data in association with port information of the terminal; an address discrimination unit to discriminate a combination of DA and SA contained in the multicast data; a forwarding destination information generation unit to generate forwarding destination information designating a forwarding destination of the multicast data by obtaining the port information in the table, corresponding to the discriminated combination, and inserts the forwarding destination information in the multicast data for transfer to a L2 switch; and a port selection unit provided in the L2 switch to select port to transfer the multicast data referring to the forwarding destination information and a routing table provided in the L2 switch.

    • A wireless communication terminal measures the reception status of a downlink signal sent from a wireless base station according to a periodic ranging process, and notifies the measured reception status of the downlink signal to the wireless base station. The wireless base station measures the reception status of an uplink signal sent from the wireless communication terminal according to the periodic ranging process, and performs a control process for avoiding interference with a wireless signal between the wireless base station and the wireless communication terminal based on the measured reception status of the uplink signal and the measured reception status of the downlink signal which is notified from the wireless communication terminal.

    • An image reading apparatus including an image reader that outputs an image signal representing the read image to a signal line, and a controller which includes an indicating portion indicating a first reading resolution to the image reader, so that the image reader reads the image at the first reading resolution. The image reader includes a confirmation-signal producing portion which produces a resolution confirmation signal representing a second reading resolution which should be identical with the first reading resolution indicated by the controller. The controller includes a judging portion which receives the resolution confirmation signal from the image reader, and judges whether the second reading resolution represented by the received resolution confirmation signal is identical with the first reading resolution indicated to the image reader. The controller therefore judges whether the first reading resolution has normally been indicated to the image reader.

    • A CD player for use with a CD having prerecorded thereon a series of tunes or tracks together with track numbers, and with a TOC which lists the prerecorded tunes with their starting addresses but, conventionally, with no ending addresses. The CD player comprises a RAM for storing the TOC read on the CD, a CPU for permitting the user to edit the TOC, and a preprogrammed RAM. After being stored on the RAM, the TOC from the disk is modified to include the ending addresses of the prerecorded tunes in addition to their starting addresses. The thus modified TOC is editable by the user for playback of any desired tune or tunes, either in part or in whole and in any desired order, permitting the customization of disk playback in a far more diversified way than heretofore.
