摘要： This invention provides an optical transmitter module and an optical module using an EA modulator capable of realizing stable ACER regardless of operating temperature without using a control mechanism for maintaining temperature of the EA modulator constant. In the EA modulator, optical waveguides formed of a multi-layered film are formed on a substrate, an electrical signal is applied to the optical waveguides in a direction vertical to the substrate, and the input light absorption amount is changed to control the amount of output light. Also, a plurality of p-side electrodes electrically separated from each other for applying an electrical signal to the active layer optical waveguides are arranged on optical axes of active layer optical waveguides. The length of optical waveguides to which the electrical signal is applied is changed by controlling the number of p-side electrodes to which the electrical signal is applied in accordance with temperature.

摘要： A taking part has a taking unit that comes in contact with the piled sheets to generate a taking force and to take the sheets one by one with the taking force. A movable lever is arranged in a side of the taking unit with respect to the piled sheets, and a driving unit gives a driving force in a linear or rotational direction to the movable lever. A force controller controls the driving force given to the movable lever by the driving unit. A detecting unit detects a position of the movable lever, and a sheet supplying unit supplies the piled sheets to the taking unit. A sheet supplying unit controller controls the sheets supplying unit on the basis of the position of the movable lever detected by the detecting unit. The sheets are pressed by the lever at a preparatory step, and then the sheets are lifted and pressed to the taking unit while canceling the driving force by the lever. The sheet and the taking unit are assured to become in good contact with each other to make the taking operation stable.

摘要： Some semiconductor lasers have an initial failure mode that is advanced as the amount of optical power therein, namely, the amount of optical output observed from the outside increases in almost independent of the temperature. The initial failure mode that is advanced as the amount of optical output increases is not sufficiently screened, so that the initial failure rate is somewhat higher than that of the semiconductor laser having the conventional active layer material. It is effective to introduce a test with large optical output at lower temperature than average operating temperature such as room temperature, during the manufacturing process. This helps to eliminate elements having the initial failure mode that is advanced as the amount optical output increases, thereby to extend the expected life of the laser diodes.
