摘要： The invention provides an image forming apparatus including an image bearing member, an intermediate transferring member for receiving a transfer of a toner image from the image bearing member, a cleaning unit which cleans the toner image on the intermediate transferring member, a first mode for transferring a toner image on the intermediate transferring member onto a transfer material, and a second mode for cleaning the toner image without transfer to the transfer material. It is thus possible to prevent image failures resulting when the intermediate transferring member is started to be used from a new state or when the image forming apparatus is started to be used after a prolonged pause.

摘要： The invention provides an image forming apparatus including an intermediate transfer belt composed of a resinous material, a transfer member for transferring a toner image on the intermediate transferring belt onto a transfer material, and an opposing member provided to be opposed to the transfer member across the intermediate transferring belt. The transfer member and the opposing member can be mutually pressured, and the intermediate transferring belt and the opposing member have an integrally measured microhardness smaller than 97°. Thus the invention provides an image forming apparatus capable of preventing a transfer unevenness caused at the transfer of the toner image from the intermediate transferring belt to the transfer material, and an intermediate transfer unit which is detachably attachable to the image forming apparatus.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a first image bearing member, a movable second image bearing member, a charging device and a voltage applying device. A toner image is transferred from the first image bearing member to the second image bearing member at a first transfer portion, and the toner image is transferred from the second image bearing member to a transfer material at a second transfer portion. The charging device is opposed to the second image bearing member at a downstream side of the second transfer portion and at an upstream side of the first transfer portion with respect to a moving direction of the second image bearing member. The voltage applying device switches a DC voltage from a first voltage to a second voltage which is opposite in polarity to the first voltage. The switching from the first voltage to the second voltage is executed at a predetermined number of transfers of the toner image from the second image bearing member to the transfer material, and the predetermined number varies depending on an image forming condition.

摘要： A blood pressure measurement device includes a cuff, a display, a distance sensor, an acceleration sensor, and a CPU. The display displays a positional relationship between the patient's heart and the device, which includes a flat screen. The distance sensor measures a distance between the device and the patient, and detects a subject to be measured on a line perpendicular to the flat screen of the display and measures the distance. The acceleration sensor measures an angle of inclination of the device when mounted on the patient's wrist. The CPU calculates a positional relationship between the patient's heart and the device based on the distance between the device and the subject to be measured, the angle of inclination of the device mounted on the patient's wrist, the length of the patient's forearm and upper arm, and a vertical distance between the patient's shoulder and heart.
