The soft key icons and updated soft key icons may be displayed at the bottom portion of the display in a manner that does not obstruct the display window.

The methods include rendering, onto screen locations of a display screen, data from a memory having a first buffer and a second buffer, each buffer having respective buffer memory locations which correspond to the screen locations of the display screen.
