摘要： The present invention discloses an encoding apparatus using a Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) scanning, which includes: a mode selection means for selecting an optimal mode for intra prediction; an intra prediction means for performing intra prediction onto video inputted based on the mode selected in the mode selection means; a DCT and quantization means for performing DCT and quantization onto residual coefficients of a block outputted from the intra prediction means; and an entropy encoding means for performing entropy encoding onto DCT coefficients acquired from the DCT and quantization by using a scanning mode decided based on pixel similarity of the residual coefficients.

摘要： The present invention discloses an encoding apparatus using a Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) scanning, which includes: a mode selection means for selecting an optimal mode for intra prediction; an intra prediction means for performing intra prediction onto video inputted based on the mode selected in the mode selection means; a DCT and quantization means for performing DCT and quantization onto residual coefficients of a block outputted from the intra prediction means; and an entropy encoding means for performing entropy encoding onto DCT coefficients acquired from the DCT and quantization by using a scanning mode decided based on pixel similarity of the residual coefficients.

摘要： Provided is an apparatus and method for encoding and decoding using alternative transform units according to the correlation of residual signals. The video encoding apparatus includes a first transforming unit for performing discrete cosine transform (DCT), first quantization, first inverse quantization, and inverse DCT on a block basis onto residual coefficients generated after intra frame prediction or inter frame prediction; a second transforming unit for performing discrete sine transform (DST), second quantization, second inverse quantization, and inverse DST on a block basis onto the residual coefficients; a selecting unit for selecting one having a high compression rate between the first and second transforming units for each block through performing rate-distortion optimization; and a flag marking unit for recording information about the selected transforming unit at a flag bit provided on a macroblock basis.

摘要： Video data encoding and decoding methods and apparatuses are provided. In the video data encoding and decoding methods, codes books are provided to an encoder and a decoder. In the encoder, an index corresponding to a vector that is most similar to a current vector of an input moving picture among the vectors of the code book is encoded. In the decoder, the index is decoded. Accordingly, it is possible to increase compression ratio and reduce calculation complexity.

摘要： There is provided a backlight unit for an LCD device. The backlight unit, disposed under a liquid crystal panel and emitting light to a liquid crystal panel, includes a lightguide plate, a light emitting diode (LED) array disposed at an edge of the lightguide plate and including a plurality of LED blocks each including at least one LED emitting white light, and a controller controlling a current signal applied to each of the plurality of LED blocks to regulate the luminance of each LED block. Accordingly, the backlight unit can be provided, which is capable of contributing to manufacturing thinner and larger products and realizing effective local dimming by using an LED disposed at an edge of the lightguide plate.
