摘要： A method and apparatus for encoding multimedia content and a method and system for applying encoded multimedia content are provided. The method of applying encoded multimedia content includes: storing in a database, a multimedia application format (MAF) file, including at least one single track which includes a header having information indicating media data, media data, and media metadata, and application data indicating information on an application method of the media; and browsing or sharing the MAF file stored in the database. According to the methods and apparatuses, even when a user does not have a special application or a function applying metadata, integrated general-purpose use of multimedia content, such as effectively browsing or sharing with others the multimedia content, is enabled.

摘要： A method and an apparatus for encoding multimedia contents, and a method and a system for applying multimedia contents are provided. The method for applying multimedia contents includes: storing an MAF file in a database, the MAF file including a header with location information that provides the location of media data, at least one single track with media data and metadata compatible with a predetermined standard, utilization data representing information for media application method; and browsing or sharing the MAF file stored in the database. The media metadata compatible with the predetermined standard is at least one of media player metadata and a media album metadata. Accordingly, even when the user does not have a specific application or a function for applying metadata, general-purpose multimedia content files can be effectively used by effectively browsing or sharing the multimedia content files.

摘要： A clustering method, medium, and apparatus using region division templates. According to the method, medium, and apparatus, in order to more reliably extract semantic concepts included in a photo, multiple content-based feature values can be extracted from region images divided by using region division templates, and the confidence degree of an input image in relation to the local semantic concept, defined by using the feature values, is measured. With respect to the confidence degree, the local semantic concepts of the photo can be merged and a more reliable local semantic concept can be extracted. By using the merged local semantic concept, the confidence degree of a global semantic concept is measured, and according to the confidence, multiple category concepts included in the input photo are extracted. By doing so, photo data can be quickly and effectively used to generate an album.

摘要： A method of category-based clustering of a digital photo album and a system thereof, the method includes: generating photo information by extracting at least one of camera information of a camera used to take a photo, photographing information, and a content-based feature value including at least one of color, texture, and shape feature values, and a speech feature value; generating a predetermined parameter including at least one of user preference indicating the personal preference of the user, photo semantic information generated by using the content-based feature value of the photo, and photo syntactic information generated by at least one of the camera information, the photographing information, and interaction with the user; generating photo group information categorizing photos by using the photo information and the parameter; and generating a photo album by using the photo information and the photo group information. According to the method and system, by using together user preference and content-based feature value information, such as color, texture, and shape, from the contents of photos, as well as information that can be basically obtained from photos, such as camera information and file information stored in a camera, a large volume of photos are effectively categorized such that an album can be fast and effectively generated with photo data.

The method includes: separating media data and metadata from the multimedia contents; creating multimedia application format (MAF) metadata by using the separated metadata, the format of the MAF metadata being predetermined; and encoding the media data and the MAF metadata to generate an MAF file including a header, the MAF metadata, and the media data, the header having information that provides a location of the media data. Accordingly, in a process of integrating digital photos and other multimedia content files into one file in the application file format MAF, visual feature information obtained from photo data and the contents of the photo images, and a variety of hint feature information for effective indexing of photos are included as metadata and content application method tools based on the metadata are included. As a result, even when the user does not have a specific application or a function for applying metadata, general-purpose multimedia content files can be effectively used by effectively browsing the multimedia content files.
