摘要： The subject application is directed to a system and method for automated application of security levels to electronic documents.1). Text data associated with text content of each of a plurality of stored electronic documents is stored in a data storage, each of the stored electronic documents having a security level associated therewith. An electronic document inclusive of text data comprising a plurality of text strings is received, and the text strings are compared with text data in at least one of the stored electronic documents. A security level is assigned to the received electronic document at a level associated with a stored electronic document in accordance with an output of the comparison.OR2). Electronic documents are received and keyword data is extracted to generate an index file associated with each electronic document. The index file is then stored in association with its respective electronic document in an associated data storage. Upon receipt of an electronic document for processing, keyword data is extracted and compared to keyword data in the index files associated with each of the stored electronic documents. The security level associated with each matching stored electronic document is then identified to determine the highest security level from among the matching documents. The received electronic document is then assigned the highest determined security level.

摘要： The subject application is directed to a system and method for server-directed document input via a document processor interface. A thin client interface is generated on a graphical display associated with a document processing device via a web server. The document processing device is controlled via a controller using software instructions. User instructions relative to a scanning operation are then received and data corresponding to the user instructions is communicated to the server via a network interface. The server receives the user instructions and generates device control instructions. The control instructions are communicated to the controller of the processing device. Operation of a scanner integrated with the processing device is commenced and scanning is performed of an electronic document from a tangible document positioned on the scanner according to the device control instructions. The electronic document is communicated from the processing device to the server via the network interface.

摘要： A system and method for the secure transmission of a facsimile, which verifies that a selected user transmitted the document and only allows for the designated recipient or recipients to receive the facsimile is provided. A sending user scans a document, which is then encrypted and digitally signed using the sender's private key, which is retrieved from a central authority or server. The digitally signed document is then encrypted using the recipient's public key. The encrypted digitally signed document is then faxed to the recipient. The device receiving the facsimile transmission then notifies the designated recipient of the receipt of the encrypted fax job. The recipient then logs onto the receiving device, which retrieves the sender's public key and the recipient's private key from the server. The retrieved keys are then used to decrypt the document and verify the identities of both the sender and the user.
