摘要： A stern tube bearing system of contra-rotating propeller includes an inner shaft having a rear propeller and an outer shaft having a front propeller, both shafts being rotated in opposite directions. A shaft center portion of the inner shaft is made hollow, a plurality of oil supply holes are bores radially in the inner shaft so as to pass therethrough perpendicularly to the outer peripheral surface thereof, and a plurality of rows of these oil supply holes are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the inner shaft, whereby seizing of the bearing owing to offset contact at its rear end caused by the propeller being overhung can be prevented.

摘要： An image forming apparatus including a cleaning unit wherein a storage is defined in a cleaning housing to store therein toner to be discarded which is collected from the surface of a photoconductive drum after image transfer. The aforesaid storage has a capacity exceeding the maximum volume of toner to be used under normal conditions within the service life of the photoconductive drum. A cumulative number of produced copies is found from a signal from a paper discharge detecting sensor, so that with the number reaching a certain value, it is judged that the life of the photoconductive drum has expired. If a reed switch detects that the storage is full of waste toner before the expiry of the life of the photoconductive drum, it is judge to be abnormal, and a display unit is caused to indicate abnormality. Concurrent execution of the exchange of photoconductive drums and disposal of toner waste is assured, and if this is not accomplished, warning for trouble shooting is provided.

An engagement hook is provided in an apparatus body and supports a central region in the longitudinal direction of the movable guide to prevent the movable guide from being deformed due to interference with a sheet fed toward the branch transport path. The mechanism prevents deformation of the movable guide while facilitating reduction in material and production costs and adequately meeting requirements of waste treatment.

摘要： There is provided a cleaning unit for removing residual toner present on the periphery of a photoconductive drum after toner image transfer, which includes: a main blade for scraping the toner from the surface of the photoconductive drum; and a cleaning roller disposed below the main blade and abutting against the periphery of the photoconductive drum. The inner space of the cleaning housing is divided into a cleaning chamber and a toner storage by a separator plate. A spacing between the lower end of the separator plate and the periphery of the cleaning roller is adjusted to preferably 1 mm to 2 mm, more preferably 1.3 mm to 1.5 mm. By thus adjusting the spacing, the toner is compressed when passing through the spacing and, hence, the toner transportation pressure is increased.

A charge supply member is disposed opposite to an image forming member on whose surface a toner image is to be formed, and at a greater distance than the thickness of a transfer material from the image forming member. A voltage of a predetermined polarity is applied to the charge supply member. In a transfer zone, the surface of the transfer material is brought into contact with the surface of the image forming member, while the back of the transfer material is not contacted with the surface of the charge supply member.
