摘要： A method for setting up a condition for a drive signal in a liquid ejection head that includes a plurality of linearly-arranged nozzles and driving elements provided for each of the nozzles, includes: calculating an average value or a median value of ejection rates for each nozzle relating to a supply of the drive signal under a plurality of conditions; classifying the plurality of nozzles into a plurality of groups based on the average value or the median value of the ejection rates; calculating a proper condition for the drive signal corresponding to each group based on a statistical value of the ejection rate relating to the group; and selecting one proper condition among proper conditions corresponding to the groups so as to set the selected proper condition for each nozzle.

摘要： A color filter substrate has a base, a first bank for partitioning off a plurality of display dots on the base, a reflective film partially provided on the base such that a reflective portion and a transmissive portion are formed in each of the display dots, a second bank provided between the reflective portion and the transmissive portion, and coloring elements provided in areas divided by the first bank and second bank. The coloring elements that are disposed in the reflective portion and the transmissive portion of one display dot have the same color but different light transmittance rates and thicknesses. With this invention, coloring elements and other elements of the color filter substrate can be set to have different attributes in the reflective portion and the transmissive portion.

摘要： A color filter has a light-transmissive substrate, a reflecting layer formed on the back substrate and provided with openings, boundary layers and formed on the reflecting layer, and a plurality of coloring layers enclosed by the boundary layers. A transparent coat layer is provided between the reflecting layer and the boundary layers. A step is formed between the openings and the transparent coat layer. The coloring layers are formed by applying the droplets of colored fluid to the openings first, and then to the transparent coat layer. The difference in color saturation of the color filter in a reflective display mode and a transmissive display mode is reduced. Also, a liquid material is appropriately applied to the color filter, to enhance color balance.
