摘要： A ship propulsion system includes authentication devices that respectively stores different authentication codes. Each of the authentication devices corresponds to one or more ship propulsion devices. Two or more authentication devices among the plurality of authentication devices do not simultaneously correspond to one ship propulsion device. Each of the authentication devices operates as a master authentication device when an authentication code transmitted from a communication device matches an authentication code stored in the authentication devices. The master authentication device recognizes whether a malfunction occurs in the authentication devices; and to select a ship propulsion device disposed in a manner of being bilaterally symmetrical about the center of the ship in the left-right direction from ship propulsion devices corresponding to an authentication device in which no malfunction occurs. A control device brings the ship propulsion device selected by the master authentication device into an operable state.

摘要： An outboard motor includes a swivel bracket supporting a drive shaft housing such that the drive shaft housing is pivotable about an axis thereof and is movable in an axial direction thereof, a steering adjuster attached to the swivel bracket and configured to increase or reduce a rotational resistance force of the drive shaft housing against the swivel bracket, and at least one spacer mounted to the drive shaft housing at a position adjacent to at least one of both ends of the swivel bracket in the axial direction. In a state in which the spacer is mounted to the drive shaft housing, the drive shaft housing is restricted from moving in the axial direction with respect to the swivel bracket. A dimension from the swivel bracket to a rotation shaft of the propeller is changed by changing a mounting position of the spacer.

The display device for the outboard motor has a gauge mode and a service tool mode as display modes. By mounting the display device for the outboard motor to a specific boat, both an operating state of the outboard motor and the unique information of the outboard motor are displayable in the gauge mode. Only the unique information of the outboard motor is displayable in the service tool mode. The display modes are configured to be switched between the gauge mode and the service tool mode.
