    • A vehicle lighting device includes a light guide lens, a light source and a reflector. The long light guide lens extends in a direction obliquely tilted with respect to a front-rear direction. The light source is disposed opposite an end of the light guide lens. The reflector is disposed behind the light guide lens. The light guide lens comprises a front face parallel to the longitudinal direction and a rear face with lens cuts aligned in the longitudinal direction. Each of the lens cuts comprises a rear first prism face that stands backward and a front second prism face parallel to the front face. Light that has exited backward from the light guide lens through the first prism face of a lens cut is reflected forward on the reflector toward the second prism face of a different lens cut.

    • An elongated light guiding lens can include an incident portion and a light guiding portion with an L-shaped cross section. The incident portion can be erected at a rear end portion of the light guiding portion, and have a second incident surface at its left end, for receiving light from an LED while collimating the light in the vertical direction. The light guiding portion can extend forward while expanding leftward more than the position corresponding to the second incident surface, and include a second reflection surface provided below the second incident surface to internally reflect the light from the second incident surface toward a side reflection surface of a left end side surface. The side reflection surface can include a plurality of first lens cuts configured to internally reflect the light reflected by the second reflection surface to a light exiting surface of the front surface portion.

    • A vehicle lighting unit can achieve line-shaped light emission with reduced luminance unevenness more than the conventional ones. The vehicle lighting unit can include: an LED having an optical axis in an illumination direction as a forward direction; and a light guiding lens having a plate shape and disposed in front of the LED. The light guiding lens can have a light incident face formed at a rear end thereof; a light exiting face formed at a front end thereof and having an elongated face extending along a left-right direction. The light incident face can have a horizontal cross section taken along the left-right direction, the cross section including a center recessed portion configured to receive light rays emitted from the LED around the optical axis thereof to diffuse the light rays toward the light exiting face in the left-right direction, and two convex portions disposed on both sides of the recessed portion, configured to receive light rays emitted from the LED sideward more than those directed to the recessed portion to condense the light rays forward substantially along the front-rear direction. The light incident face can further have a vertical cross section including a convex face for receiving the light rays from the LED to make the light rays parallel to one another substantially along the front-rear direction.
