    • In a storage system having a function of acquiring update history information in correspondence with a write operation from a host, update data according to the amount of data written will become enormous. Thus, there is a problem in that long-term backup and data management using update history information is not possible. A management computer defines a service level according to time progress of data, and stores and manages update history information according to the service level in the respective stages. The management computer manages the update history information, and partially migrates update data from a certain storage system to another storage system according to the service level required in the data. The management computer also restores data in the storage system to which the update data was migrated.

    • Provided is a computer system capable of reducing a load on a virtualization apparatus during backup processing, including: at least one first storage system; at least one second storage system; a virtualization apparatus; at least one host computer; a backup unit; and a data transmission unit having access to the first storage system, in which, when requested to take a backup of the virtualized data storage area, the backup unit obtains mapping information which indicates association between the virtualized data storage area and the first data storage area where data requested to be written in the virtualized data storage area is stored, and identifies, based on the obtained mapping information, the first data storage area corresponding to the virtualized data storage area that is requested to be backed up, and in which the data transmission unit transfers, to the storage unit of the second storage system, a copy of data stored in the first data storage area that is identified by the backup unit.

    • Provided is a computer system including a plurality of data storage apparatus and manages a bandwidth of a data storage apparatus according to an attribute of a storage volume. A storage system includes an interface for processing access to the storage volume from a host computer, and a control unit for controlling allocation of the storage volume to the host computer. A management computer transmits a request of setting a bandwidth to be accessed by the host computer via the interface in the storage volume to the storage system. The control unit sets the bandwidth corresponding to a ratio of processing access to each storage volume in the storage system based on the request from the management computer, and allocates the storage volume having the bandwidth requested by the host computer set therein to the host computer to be accessed by the host computer to the allocated storage volume.
