    • A liquid ejection apparatus includes a liquid ejection head that ejects a liquid and a switching device. The switching device includes a first ON-OFF valve that selectively opens and closes a first supply passage at a position upstream from the joining point, and a second ON-OFF valve that selectively opens and closes a second supply passage at a position upstream from the joining point. When the first ON-OFF valve is open and the second ON-OFF valve is closed, the liquid guide portion divides the first liquid into a first liquid flow proceeding from the first supply passage directly to the head supply passage and a second liquid flow flowing from the first supply passage into the head supply passage after passing the vicinity of the second ON-OFF valve in the second supply passage. When the first ON-OFF valve is closed and the second ON-OFF valve is open, the liquid guide portion divides the second liquid into a third liquid flow proceeding from the second supply passage directly to the head supply passage and a fourth liquid flow flowing from the second supply passage into the head supply passage after passing the vicinity of the first ON-OFF valve in the first supply passage.

    • A liquid ejection apparatus having a liquid ejection head and a switching device is provided. The switching device includes a first supply passage through which first liquid flows, a second supply passage through which second liquid different from the first liquid flows, a head supply passage, a first ON-OFF valve that selectively opens and closes the first supply passage, a second ON-OFF valve that selectively opens and closes the second supply passage, a rotary cam, and an actuator. The head supply passage extends from a joining point between a downstream end of the first supply passage and a downstream end of the second supply passage to the liquid ejection head. The actuator is driven by the cam in such a manner that the first ON-OFF valve and the second ON-OFF valve are selectively opened and closed. The actuator operates the first and second ON-OFF valves in such a manner that one of the first and second ON-OFF valves becomes open and the other becomes closed.

    • A fluid ejecting apparatus includes: a fluid ejecting unit that ejects a colored fluid and a colorless fluid toward a fluid ejection target medium; an irradiating unit that irradiates ultraviolet rays onto a fluid that lies on or over the fluid ejection target medium so as to cure the fluid; and a controlling unit that controls the fluid ejecting operation of the fluid ejecting unit and the ultraviolet ray irradiating operation of the irradiating unit. The controlling unit performs control so that the colorless fluid is ejected on an image that is made of the colored fluid that landed on the fluid ejection target medium. After the start of the agglomeration of the colorless fluid that landed on the image, the controlling unit performs control so that ultraviolet rays are irradiated onto the colorless fluid.
