    • A roil of a recording paper is rotatably contained in a paper magazine. The magazine is provided with a mouth through which the recording paper is drawn out and fed to a printer. A leading edge of the recording paper is adapted to come into contact with an outer periphery of the roll by a contacting device. The remainder of the roll is indicated by an indicating device. The mouth of the magazine is opened and closed with a shutter unit. The inside of the magazine tightly closed with the shutter unit is kept at constant humidity by a humidity conditioning paper. On the other hand, the roll is caught between a pair of flanges. One of the flanges is biased by plate springs toward the other of the flanges so that the roll is held in the magazine without looseness.

    • In a thermal printer having a stationary thermal head and a platen movable between a pressing position on the thermal head and a retracted position off the thermal head, a paper transport device is provided with a platen shift device for shifting the platen between the retracted position and the pressing position, a feed roller device for transporting the recording paper to the thermal head along a transport path, and a guide member disposed between the feed roller device and the thermal head. The guide member is movable in cooperation with the platen shift device, such that when the platen shift device shifts the platen to the retracted position the guide member moves to a guide position in the transport path and guides the recording paper to remove slantwise from the thermal head while passing through between the thermal head and the platen. When the platen shift device shifts the platen to the pressing position the guide member moves to an ineffective position off the transport path.

    • A clamper clamps an edge of a lenticular sheet and is transported in a sub-scanning direction. After oblique transportation of the lenticular sheet is corrected based on a detection result from an oblique transportation detector, transportation of the lenticular sheet for forming an image receptor layer on the rear side of the lenticular sheet is performed with a thermal head contacting said lenticular sheet. In this transportation, a lens sensor is activated to optically detect a lens pitch and so on. The lens sensor is positioned between the thermal head and the clamper.

    • A thermal printer includes a thermal head, which records an image to a recording material. Feeder rollers feed the recording material relative to the thermal head. An EEPROM stores first distance data adapted to image recording to a predetermined first type of the recording material. A keyboard inputs second distance data representing a second type of the recording material at a time of image recording to the second type. A personal computer causes the feeder rollers to set the first and second types to the thermal head according to respectively the first and second distance data, and drives the thermal head and feeder rollers in synchronism. The image is recorded in first and second printing regions suitable to respectively the first and second types.
