    • A non-linear processor for use in an echo canceller is set forth. The non-linear processor includes a center clipping digital filter receiving an echo compensated signal. The non-linear processor provides a center clipped output signal having non-linear thresholds at values of +TNLP and −TNLP. The value of TNLP is dynamically dependent, at least in part, on echo return loss measurements. To limit the processor's susceptibility to corruption from double-talk conditions, the non-linear processor inhibits the dynamic setting of the TNLP value when a double-talk condition is present. Additionally, or in the alternative, the non-linear processor locks the value of the echo return loss measurement after a predetermined number of consecutive echo return loss measurements have values falling within a predetermined range of one another. Such locking further reduces the susceptibility of the non-linear processor to corruption from double-talk conditions.

    • A method and system for automatically designing fire systems for a specific building. The system includes a computing system and an input terminal for a designer to communicate with the computing system. The computing system also includes a graphics module for generating graphical representations of components of the fire system. The computing system also includes a database for storing data on components of the fire system. The designer, through the input terminal, selects specific components and locations of the components. The computing system then automatically gathers and calculates the fire alarm system data, to include riser diagrams, cost estimates, signaling diagrams, component specifications, bill of materials, voltage loss charts, battery back up calculations, submittal letters, table of contents and all other information required to be included within a formal submittal package to an authority having jurisdiction.

    • A central information processing system and method that issues receipts or tickets that can be securely validated at points of redemption. The method and system couple a client system with a server system and also couple at least one Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) reader to the client system. The method and system read at least one identifier from a sheet with a RFID tag embedded therein with the RFID reader. The method and system also send the at least one identifier from the client system to the server system and receive from the server system at least one receipt image for printing on the paper with the RFID tag embedded therein. The method and system also print, at the client system, a receipt containing ticket information received from the server system. The server system further accepts at least one identifier that was read from a Radio Frequency Identification tag that was read from a sheet at the client system, records the at least one identifier, sends to the client system, in response to the accepting, at least one receipt image. Validation of the receipt or ticket includes reading, at a point of delivery, the at least one identifier from the Radio Frequency Identification tag and providing, in response to reading the at least one identifier, at least one of a good and a service.

    • The present invention relates to one-part cationically curable compositions with storage stability, wherein cure is independent of external stimuli such as heat and UV irradiation. In particular, the present invention provides for compositions with a long shelf life that will cure only upon application of the composition to the target surface, i.e. the surface is involved in initiating cure of the cationically curable component. Suitable compositions comprise those for curing on a surface comprising carbon-halogen covalent bonds comprising a cationically curable component and a non-halide silver salt. The present invention also relates to a primer capable of promoting cure of cationically curable non-halide silver salt compositions.

The initiator comprises at least one metal salt and a free radical generating component. The metal salt of the composition is chosen so that it is reduced at the surface, where the standard reduction potential of the metal salt is greater than the standard reduction potential of the surface, and where when the composition is placed in contact with the surface, the metal salt is reduced at the surface, and interacts with the free radical generating component, thereby initiating cure of the radically curable component of the composition. No catalytic component is required in the composition for efficient curing.
