    • In a pivotable suction tube (3) for taking up a yarn from a bobbin, there is provided for transfer of the yarn to an operating element, on its side facing the bobbin, an elongate slot (32), with which is associated a controllable closure piece (33, 35) extending over at least a substantial portion of it. The suction tube (3) possesses a tubular section (30) having a shape being symmetric to its axis with which is associated as a closure piece a rotatable slider (33) provided with an axial slot (330). The closure piece (33, 35) carries a stop (333, 352) with which is associated a counter-stop (20, 410) which becomes effective in dependence on the pivoting motion of the suction tube (3).

    • The method and apparatus for removing irregularities in a thread being produced on a machine as the thread is traveling to a takeup device. A thread reserve having a suction applied thereto causing a loop to be formed therein which contains said irregularity. An additional pair of loops are formed in said thread, one above and one below the thread reserve. The loop formed in the end of the thread reserve is severed from the thread and the two remaining loops are inserted into a thread joining device. A thread suction extractor associated with the thread joining device pulls the end portions of the pair of loops taut permitting the joining operation to take place and, after joining of the thread, removing the separated ends.The thread reserve is provided with mechanism for maintaining the loop of thread extending therein separated and for severing and removing the portion of the loop containing the irregularity from the thread.

    • The invention relates to a switching matrix for an input device such as a keyboard or a cursor device for the detection of different switching states. According to the invention the switching matrix has a group electrically connected to a microcontroller, with a plurality of N input and output lines (I/O-lines) with a serially connected terminating resistor to mass each and a group with a plurality of K switching lines with one switching element each. Each switching line connects two of the N I/O lines to each other. The K switching line have an additional series resistor each. According to an interrogation pattern, a first I/O-line as output line is configured with a high potential, a second I/O-line is configured as input line and each further I/O-line as output line is configured with a low potential of the microcontroller.

    • A ventilation system of a motor vehicle includes a first air control flap driven by a first mechanism, a second air control flap driven by a second mechanism, and a counterstop connected with the second mechanism. The counterstop is driven by the second mechanism between an operative position wherein it restricts movement of the first mechanism away from a reference position, and an inoperative position wherein it does not restrict movement of the first mechanism away from the reference position. The second mechanism has an idle region over which the counterstop may be moved without moving the second flap. The second mechanism may include an eccentric disk rotatable by an actuator to move the counterstop between the operative and inoperative positions.
