摘要： With the subject invention, a container for an injection device with an injection needle is provided. The container includes a body having a compartment formed therein to accommodate the injection device in both a pre-use and a post-use condition. The body defines a first opening through which the injection device in its pre-use condition may be accessed, and the body defines a second opening into which the injection device may be directed in its post-use condition. A closure is provided for closing the first opening. The container also includes a retainer proximate the second opening for retaining the injection device in the container in its post-use condition preventing access to the injection needle after the injection device has been used to administer an injection. Advantageously, the container of the subject invention may accommodate an injection device both before and after use thereby providing not only a pre-use packaging for the injection device, but also a post-use sharps container for the injection device.

摘要： With the subject invention, a container for an injection device with an injection needle is provided. 摘要： A medical injector is provided herein which includes first and second body portions each having a longitudinal axis and configured to couple at a coupling. The first and second body portions are complementarily formed so as to be movable about the coupling. The medical injector also includes an axially-displaceable plunger; biasing element for advancing the plunger a predetermined distance; and, a releasable retainer for releasably retaining the plunger in a first state against the force of the biasing element. In an initial state, the axes of the first and second body portions are not aligned and the plunger is in the first state. In a coupled state, the axes of the first and second body portions are axially aligned, and the releasable retainer releases the plunger, thereby allowing the biasing element to advance the plunger the predetermined distance. Advantageously, the subject invention provides a medical injector having an automated plunger drive which is triggered upon assembly of the pen injector, thereby minimizing premature or failed activations.

In an initial state, the needle mounting surface is disposed within the body with no needle mounted thereto. 摘要： A medical injector is provided herein having a body; a reservoir containing first and second mixable component; a stopper; a plunger; a spring disposed to advance the plunger; a first releasable retainer for releasably retaining the plunger in a first state against force of the spring; a first trigger for causing the first releasable retainer to release the plunger; a second releasable retainer for releasably retaining the plunger in a second state against force of the spring; and, a second trigger for causing the second releasable retainer to release the plunger. The spring causes the plunger to advance so that the stopper traverses at least a predetermined extent of advancement thereby causing mixing of the first and second mixable components. Advantageously, with the subject invention, a medical injector is provided which allows for autoreconstitution with subsequent dose setting and autoplunger activation being activated by separate triggers.

摘要： In one aspect, a medical injector is provided herein having a body and an overcap releasably attached to the body configured to prevent mounting of a needle prior to mixing of components within the body. In a further aspect, a slidable collet may be provided useable to urge resilient members from an outward disrupted state inwardly to collectively define a needle mount. Advantageously, a medical injector is provided which ensures proper sequence in preparation of the device, particularly with respect to the step of allowing mounting of a medical needle to the device subsequent to preparation of the medicament to be administered.
