    • A thermostatic valve device for a coolant circulating system of an internal-combustion engine having a thermostatic working element which has a housing containing an expansion material and a working piston which is movable out of the housing in a moving-out direction. A valve disk and a valve seat forms a valve. The valve disk is connected to the housing. A restoring spring is coupled to the housing. An abutment supports the working piston such that, when the working piston moves out, the housing moves against the action of the restoring spring to lift the valve disk off the valve seat. The abutment is a thrust bearing. An idle path is between the abutment and the working piston. The idle path is bridged by a first part of the moving-out movement. A bypass connection bypasses the valve. A closing member is mounted on the working piston and closes and opens the bypass connection. The bypass connection and the closing member form a pilot valve which opens during the moving-out of the working piston for bridging the idle path. A closing spring is coupled to the closing member and loads the closing member against the moving-out direction of the working piston.

    • In the case of a thermostatic valve for a cooling system of an internal-combustion engine comprising a thermostatic working element, it is provided that the housing of the working element is held in a stationary manner, in that the working piston is provided with the main valve disk which surrounds the housing of the working element in a pot-type manner and is provided with openings in the area of its side walls, and with the short-circuit valve disk, and in that on the side of the main valve disk facing away from the working piston, the housing of the working element is situated to be at least partially free in the coolant flowing in from the radiator.

    • A temperature-dependent switch is provided with a substance, which expands when heated in a housing, and a transmission part. The transmission part is displaceable by a diaphragm, a sealing part, accepting a beaded edge on the diaphragm with an annular groove is included. The integral housing serves to accept the substance which expands or contracts as a function of temperature, the sealing part, the diaphragm and the transmission part. A prong plate is fastened to housing for at least one electrical prong. The scaling part is provided with at least one recess to accept an insulating part. The transmission part is effectively connected with an electrical prong.

    • A method of cooling coolant in a coolant circuit of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle includes: evaluating parameters of the internal combustion engine and the motor vehicle with a thermostatic valve control device; based on the evaluation of the parameters, controlling with the thermostatic valve control device adjustment of a thermostatic valve for controlling coolant flow from a radiator and coolant flow from a bypass line around the radiator into a combined coolant flow to the internal combustion engine; communicating a signal based on the evaluation of the parameters from the thermostatic valve control device to a fan control device which controls operation of a fan that cools coolant in the radiator to a target temperature; and setting the target temperature of the fan control device through the communication. Subsequently, the fan control device controls the cooling by the fan as a function of the target temperature set by the signal received from the thermostatic valve control device.
