    • A connector assembly includes a housing having a front and a rear and openings in an outer periphery of the housing. Contact modules are received in the housing through the rear. The contact modules extend from the rear of the housing. The contact modules have grooves in an outer periphery of the contact modules. A back shell is coupled to the housing and the contact modules. The back shell has housing tabs extending therefrom being received in the openings of the housing to secure the back shell to the housing. The back shell also has contact module tabs extending therefrom being received in corresponding grooves of the contact modules to secure the back shell to the contact modules. The back shell peripherally surrounds the contact modules.

    • An electrical connector mountable to a panel includes a dielectric housing having a plurality of contact cavities extending from a mating end to a contact loading end and arranged in rows and columns. At least one of the plurality of contact cavities includes a polarizing contact cavity positioned and formed to define a mating connector. In one embodiment, the polarizing contact cavity is a corner contact cavity having a contact cavity wall with a slot formed therein. The slot is configured to receive a ridge on the mating connector. The slot may open into a guide receptacle. Alternatively, the polarizing contact cavity is a corner contact cavity and includes a contact cavity wall having a channel that extends into a side wall of the housing. The channel is configured to receive a protrusion on the mating connector.

    • A connector assembly includes contact modules having dielectric bodies holding contacts having mating portions extending from the dielectric body. The connector assembly includes a conductive shield body holding the contact modules in a stacked configuration. The shield body provides shielding around the contact modules and the shield body has a mating end configured to be mated to a mating connector assembly. The mating end has one or more exposed surfaces between corresponding contacts. The shield body extends between selected contact modules. The connector assembly includes a conductive gasket positioned along the mating end of the shield body. The conductive gasket engages the exposed surfaces of the shield body to define a ground path between the conductive shield body and the mating connector assembly.

    • An electrical connector for mounting to a panel includes a housing configured to be mounted to the panel, and a deflectable latch including a latch arm having a length extending in a longitudinal direction between a fixed end secured to the housing and a free end movable with respect to the housing. The free end has a locking finger extending therefrom. The latch arm is deflected laterally with respect to the length thereof to align the locking finger with an opening through the panel. The deflectable latch returns to a resting position once the housing is mounted to the panel, and the locking finger engages the panel when in the resting position.
