    • An improved more fabric-like, softer feel surface for a single layer or composite structures, such as utilized for vertical and horizontal blind louvers or slats. A patterned, textured or printed, surface can be formed on one or both sides of the structure. The improved surface provides an enhanced visual and tactile impression. The structure is formed of a single layer of a non-rigid plasticized thermoplastic polymer or a composite structure with a substantially rigid thermoplastic PVC, CPVC or ABS substrate and the softer surface formed by a non-rigid plasticized thermoplastic polymer layer or capstock formed on one or both sides. Either or both of the softer surfaces can be formed with different pigments, including pearlescent and colors, can be printed or patterned and can be embossed with or without an underlying pattern providing a virtually endless array of options.

    • A profound improvement in the properties and capabilities of elastomeric polyurethane joint sealing compositions is achieved by incorporating a fibrillated polyolefin of high surface area which is rendered compatible by combining it with effective stabilizing cofillers, such as titanium dioxide, calcium carbonate, carbon black, fibrous talc, serpentine, kaolin, or various other metal silicate fillers. Such cofillers are capable of improving compatibility and stabilizing the sealant mixture so that unacceptable sweat out or exudation of liquid is prevented and so that the outer surface of the applied sealant has an acceptable surface quality after curing.When 2 to 8 percent by weight of fibrillated polyolefin of macrofibrillar structure, preferably containing macrofibrils with diameters from 1 to 10 microns, is incorporated in a polyurethane joint sealant together with 8 to 30 percent of stabilizing cofillers, it becomes possible to provide revolutionary new joint sealants with remarkable properties, such as Boeing sag values of 0.1 and below for caulking compositions applied to extremely wide joints. These unique non-sag joint sealants can be compounded to form strong soft low-modulus elastomers ideally suited for vertical joints subject to extreme cyclical movement as is common in modern building construction.

    • A multichannel, multipoint distribution services (MMDS) dipole antenna for receiving multiple channels in the S-band frequency range of 2000 and 3000 MHz is formed from a printed circuit board which is directly connected to a coaxial cable. On the printed circuit board are etched two stacked dipoles. Each of the dipoles has a first one-half element etched on the first side of the printed circuit board and the second one-half element etched on the second side of the printed circuit board. The first and second dipoles are oriented to be in phase with each other and are separated from each other at a wavelength spacing between 0.25 lambda and 0.40 lambda. The antenna of the present invention further uses a phase combining circuit and an impedance matching circuit etched on the printed circuit board for combining in phase the polarized signals, for canceling the non-polarized signals at 0.degree. and 180.degree., from the two stacked dipoles and for matching the impedance from the two dipoles to the impedance of the coaxial cable.
