    • A handcuff apparatus includes a combination locking head and strap support which includes a first longitudinal axis. A first handcuff strap and a second handcuff strap are connected to the combination locking head and strap support. Each of the respective first and second handcuff straps are connected to the combination locking head and strap support parallel to a second longitudinal axis which is substantially perpendicular to the first longitudinal axis. Both the handcuff straps extend outward from the combination locking head and strap support from the same side of the strap support. Each of the respective handcuff straps includes a ratchet-bearing side and a smooth side which contacts the skin of a person to be restrained. Respective strap-supported unidirectional ratchet members are located on the respective ratchet-bearing sides. The locking head and strap support is provided with a movable locking dip or member normally supported in a first or non-engagement position within a portion of the locking head. When the handcuff apparatus is applied to a person being restrained, the clip is depressed into the head until it suitably locks in place in a second “locked” condition characterized by additional ratchet teeth provided on the locking clip meshing with corresponding complimentary ratchet teeth on the juxtaposed strap being supported therein.

    • A method of manufacturing Construction and Demolition ("C&D") disposal debris into a substitute/alternative daily/initial cover product approved by an environmental regulatory authority for use at a solid waste disposal landfill, wherein the C&D disposal debris, before processing/manufacturing, is considered a raw material/feed stock composed of a commingled inseparable mixture of solid waste components/items which are classified based on their origin as C&D disposal debris. These components are mechanically processed by screening or shredding to a predetermined specification particle size to collectively create/form a "C&D Recovered Screen Material" ("RSM") product. This C&D-RSM product is applied as daily/initial cover material covering compacted and leveled Municipal Solid Waste ("MSW") substituting the normally used sand, dirt or earthen materials at permitted/licensed MSW disposal landfills operating with a landfill leachate containment system or other approved site location. Once applied, this manufactured MSW disposal landfill substitute C&D-RSM daily cover product is treated with a formulated solution in order to meet the required environmental regulatory authority specifications necessary for any product or material to be approved by them as a MSW disposal landfill daily/initial cover material or as a substitute daily/initial cover product.

    • A pH-measuring method and device for monitoring and then correcting for electrode drift is provided. The device includes a pH-measuring electrode and more than one reference electrode. During operation, the pH-measuring device is place in contact with a sample. The pH value measured at each electrode pair is due to the electrical potential difference between the pH electrode and the reference electrode. The maximum and minimum pH values are determined, and then the remaining pH values are averaged together to generate an overall average pH. The maximum and minimum pH values are subtracted from the average pH to generate a difference which is then compared to a user-defined drift level to determine if a particular electrode is deficient. The pH values from deficient electrodes are not considered when the overall pH of the sample is determined.

    • Handcuffs characterized by a single locking head/single strap support receiving a single handcuff strap. The single locking head/single strap support includes a manually movable locking member which includes locking member ratchets for engagement with the strap ratchets. With one embodiment of the single-strap handcuff apparatus of the invention, a two-link chain of single-strap handcuff apparatuses is formed. With another embodiment of the single-strap handcuff apparatus of the invention, a three-link chain of single-strap handcuff apparatuses is formed.
