摘要： An idle speed control motor under computer control positions a throttle stop for setting minimum throttle angles. The motor response to actuating pulses varies from motor to motor so that a gain factor is determined for each motor and is used to calculate the required pulse width to attain a desired throttle displacement. A gain learn program in the engine control computer runs when the ignition is turned off and is effective to extend the motor with a number of pulses of known width, measure the throttle displacement, and determine the gain factor by dividing a standard displacement by the measured displacement. The same program is applied to learning the gain of a throttle motor in an electronic throttle control system.

摘要： The truck tailgate position indicator is a warning system for pickup trucks that would alert the driver when the tailgate is in the lowered, or open, position. The device would consist primarily of a push button switch mounted in the truck bed such that the tailgate would push the button upon being closed, a control circuit, an indicator light, an override switch, a buzzer, and mounting hardware. When the tailgate was closed, the switch would automatically be pressed, opening the control circuit and disabling the warning light and the audible alarm. Opening the tailgate would release the switch, thereby completing the control circuit and enabling the warning system. A manual override switch would be provided to disable the warning system for those occasions when the driver wishes to travel with the tailgate in the lowered position without having a constant reminder.

The method further includes the step of finding a catalytic converter temperature in a look-up table using the change in oxygen sensing mechanism output, and using the catalytic converter temperature as needed by an electronic control mechanism to operate an engine of the motor vehicle.
