    • An improvement in the translating cowl of a cascade type thrust reverser for a high bypass aircraft jet engine that provides a novel blocker door frame arrangement for the inner panel of such cowl. A plurality of forwardly opening spaced circumferentially arranged apertures are provided in the inner panel of the translating cowl and an outer edge portion of a one piece imperforate blocker door frame is sealingly inserted in each such opening by extending the edge portion between the facing sheets of the inner panel for bonding thereto. Each blocker door frame is configured to receive a blocker door that is hinged to such frame at the forward portion of the frame and which is connected by a drag link to a core cowl of the aircraft engine. An annular reinforcing section is secured to the inner surfaces of the blocker door frames and to an end slider portion of the translating cowl for longitudinal reciprocal motion. Another reinforcing section is secured to the forward portion of the blocker door frames and receives an annular seal that engages a fixed portion of the thrust reverser to preclude leakage of the fan duct air flow when the translating cowl is stowed. The two reinforcing sections increase the hoop strength and bending stiffness of the inner panel and integral blocker door frames.

    • The present disclosure is directed to an apparatus and system for and method of registering, admitting and testing of a candidate. Test candidate can be registered and admitted through verification of identity using biometric comparisons and third party identification systems. Scanning of identification documents and comparison with security information database can authenticate the validity and authenticity of identification documents. Authentication of testing candidates can be accomplished by comparison of biometric data of candidate against biometric data contain in identification document. Testing can be conducted on an apparatus remotely located from a proctor monitored administrative station or apparatus. The remote testing station can detect and prevent individuals from cheating, detect unauthorized objects, and can prevent or detect unauthorized copying of an examination or portions thereof.

    • A robust, low cost, compact and highly accurate rotary position sensor is disclosed for measuring the relative angular position (within a range ≦180°) of a housing or stator and a rotor. The housing carries a galvanomagnetic sensing element and is adapted for fixation to a relatively fixed portion of a host system. The rotor carrying a magnet is disposed for rotation about a fixed axis with respect to the stator and is interconnected to a relatively moving portion of the host system through intermediate linkage. The magnet is juxtaposed in substantially axial alignment with the galvanomagnetic sensing element for magnetic interaction therewith. The housing defines a cavity to receive potting material for encasing the galvanomagnetic sensing element and an adjacent buffer cavity interconnected by a weir, which diverts ant excess potting material into the buffer cavity.
