摘要： A system and method are provided for remotely actuating a subunit disconnect in a motor control center subunit. A motor control center subunit includes a subunit housing configured to fit within a motor control center and a subunit disconnect configured to selectively control a supply power to motor control components of the subunit housing. A control mechanism is attached to the subunit housing to activate and deactivate the subunit disconnect and a remote control device communicates with the control mechanism and is configured to operate the control mechanism to activate and deactivate the subunit disconnect.

After a motor control center subunit is secured into a motor control center compartment, the supply power contacts may be advanced to engage supply power buses. For disconnection, the supply power contacts may be retracted and isolated from the buses before physical removal of the subunit. A free wheeling mechanism prevents supply power contacts from advancing and retracting past a preset travel range.

摘要： A system and method are provided for coordinating the installation and removal a motor control center subunit with the power connection and interruption thereof. A system of interlocks and indicators causes an operator to install a motor control center subunit into a motor control center, and connect supply and control power thereto, in a particular order. Once installed, a test module system included with the subunit provides for pass-through connection of signals from equipment test points. The test module can thus relay internal conditions of the subunit to the operator without a need for disengaging or opening the subunit.

摘要： A molded case electric switch housing includes an electric switch control circuit for motor overload and phase loss conditions, a motor contactor control circuit for turning an associated electric motor ON and OFF and a replaceable fuse unit for handling short-circuit type faults. Upon the occurrence of a short circuit within the protected circuit, the fuse rapidly interrupts the short circuit to protect the electric circuit. The fuse is replaced before power is restored to the protected circuit. The arrangement of the electric switch control circuit, motor contactor control circuit and fuse allows single sized switch current-carrying components to be used over a wide range of motor ratings.
