    • A communication port identification system enables an intelligent interconnect patch panel to reliably track connections to network switches. Network switch ports are provided with port ID modules that are inserted into the ports. Intelligent interconnect patch cords each utilize a patch cord microcontroller and out-of-band conductors to enable communication between an intelligent interconnect patch panel and the port ID modules of the switch port. Each port ID module is provided with a unique identification number, and the intelligent interconnect patch panel is thereby able to track all of its connections to the port ID modules in real time, and to update a network management system accordingly.

    • A condensate removal system is provided for use in association or connection with equipment that produces a liquid or condensate during operation. The condensate removal system is configured to receive a liquid or condensate produced by equipment and is configured to induce the liquid or condensate to flow from the system as liquid or condensate droplets and/or liquid or condensate vapor. The system is configured to contain and to vibrate a liquid or condensate received from equipment in an ultrasonic frequency zone to induce the liquid or condensate to form into droplets and/or vapors.     • The grid load synchronization system described herein permits proactive mitigation of the effects of large loads transitioning on and off the power grid and the resultant risks and power quality issues associated therewith. The disclosed proactive system permits a grid-connected power consumer to synchronize demand with power storage equipment in real time using a digital communication link. The power consumer transmits requests to bring a load online or offline to a control site. The control site coordinates power grid source(s) and power grid loads to maintain power quality when loads go on and offline. The control sites manage requests from multiple power consumers and schedule the various loads for the consumers to mitigate the effects of large loads transitioning on and off the power grid. The resulting power quality can be guaranteed when adequate battery resources are made proactively available, rather than reacting to line conditions to engage compensation actions.

    • A power shedding device controls the application of power from an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). It includes circuitry for detecting an alarm signal indicative of a condition requiring the rationing of power from the UPS, and a plurality of power outlets for connection to a plurality of loads such as computers, printers, and other associated devices. A microprocessor controls the application of power to each power outlet pursuant to program control such that the application of power to a first power output is independent of the application of power to a second power output. Manually operable switches are provides for presetting shedding profiles for the power outlets during a shutdown procedure. The processor is responsive to receipt of an alarm signal to shed each power output in accordance with its corresponding manually preset shedding profile. A low UPS battery alarm results in an override of the shedding profiles if the remaining time to shutdown for an outlet exceeds a predetermined limit. The processor is responsive to alarms from the UPS as well as to an auxiliary alarm. The power shedding device may be used with existing UPS monitoring software without modification. Power outlets are also manually selectable or deselectable by the user if desired. In addition provision is made for power recycling of all power outlets regardless of when power returns.
