    • A method and system provide for dynamic control of backlighting of a light-transmissive bezel of a display device. A color control signal is received and processed by a processor and control element of the display device to generate a backlighting control signal and transmit the backlighting control signal to the backlighting element of the display device. The backlighting element generates a backlighting color to illuminate the light-transmissive bezel in accordance with the received backlighting control signal; the backlighting control signal adaptively controls the type and the duration of the backlighting color as determined by the color control signal received by the processor and control element.

    • A method and system provide for passive monitoring by a monitor entity of content displayed for viewing by a content viewing device. Generally, one or more content source parameters of a content viewing device are observed or monitored. From the one or more content source parameters are determined content displayed for viewing on the content viewing device. One or more content data representative of the displayed content is next extracted. A monitor entity passively monitors the one or more content data and optionally the one or more content source parameters of the content viewing device. The monitor entity may be a person, an external device programmed to do monitoring, or a person interfacing with an external device.

    • System and method for changing a current input terminal of a user device. In one embodiment of the invention, a method includes receiving an input terminal change request, requesting that a current input terminal be changed from a first input terminal to a second input terminal. The method may further include determining if an external device is connected to the second input terminal. In one embodiment of the invention, the second input terminal includes a connection detection switch. The method may also include switching to the second input terminal when the connection detection switch indicates an external device connection and skipping the second input terminal when the connection detection switch indicates no external device connected according to one embodiment of the invention.
