摘要： Aggregate-containing products bonded by an aluminosilicate hydrogel are disclosed. A system of two-part mixing and blending of binder components with various granular-like aggregates, modifiers and/or fillers is described in which the resulting compositions are temporarily fluid and formable for short, controllable periods of time but which thereafter become strong, rigid, adherent, erosion resistant composites, requiring little or no external heat supply to achieve full set. The compositions can be formulated for molding on suitable forms or patterns, and may also be prepared in slurry form suitable for spray coating or sealing applications. A wide variety of products can be manufactured of the compositions, including investment molds and cores for foundry use, as well as non-foundry products such as heat and electrical insulators, construction blocks, panels, coating slurries, etc. which may be of essentially solid or foamed (cellular) construction. The novel compositions may be totally inorganic if desired and have advantage in their preparation and use of being non-toxic and environmentally safe, possessing properties of good soundproofing, fire and fluid erosion resistance. The compositions are formulated of readily available, non-critical materials and are correspondingly very cost effective.

摘要： Granular compositions are disclosed for use in preparing hard, water and erosion-resistant, shapes such as foundry molds and cores, that are self-setting under ambient atmospheric conditions to allow such shapes to be stripped from patterns on which they are formed, such pattern stripping being possible immediately after forming in the case of foundry cores and the like, and within controllable pattern strip times as low as 60 seconds for foundry molds. The shapes may be used without baking and, in the case of foundry molds and cores, are ready for casting molten metal within as little as one hour. Molds and/or cores free of organic materials can be formed with the novel compositions, providing essentially carbon-free surfaces at the mold-metal interface, as well as being free of other deleterious elements such as sulfur, phosphorus and boron, thereby avoiding alloy composition alteration at the interface due to migration during casting. The refractory compositions of the invention incorporate unique aluminosilicate hydrogels of alkali metals as binders, are compatible in use with existing industrial foundry mold/core-forming equipment and procedures, and are eminently free of environmental (toxicity) problems in the foundry atmosphere.

摘要： A clamping means for clamping the wires of a saddle to the upper end of a support post of a bicycle frame or the like. It consists of a lower cradle support clamping member and a cooperating upper clamping member which are mounted on the post to permit tilting of the saddle. The clamping members are so designed that they can be extruded from metal with a post-receiving socket at the lower side of the lower member. This socket, because the lower member is extruded, has a flat inner wall and side walls extending linearly in spaced relationship, with the side walls being at sharp angles to the inner flat wall to provide sharp corners for engaging the sides of the post at a fulcrum formed thereon to prevent lateral displacement of the lower cradle support on the post.

摘要： A ratchet tooth ring has ratchet teeth with a tooth root where a spline tooth is placed to prevent a thin spot in the ring at the tooth root. By using the same number of spline teeth on the periphery of the ratchet ring as the number of ratchet teeth and positioning the spline tooth opposite the ratchet tooth root the normal thin spot in the ring is avoided. The ratchet ring is mounted into a hub body and the spline teeth transfer torque from the ratchet ring to the hub body. The straight spline tooth on the periphery of the ring has a steep ramp angle to avoid multiplying the generated radial force exerted on the housing excessively when torque is applied. The ratchet teeth and the spline teeth can be forged at the same time making manufacturing lower cost.

摘要： A method for producing a bicycle wheel rim is disclosed. The method involves extruding a thin-walled, hollow body having the cross-sectional shape of the rim and an integral external tab. The walls of the hollow body are sufficiently thin that a length of the hollow body without the external tab is subject to buckling when roll formed to produce a rim. The tab is so positioned and sized that the hollow body with the integral external tab is not subject to buckling when roll formed. A portion of the extrusion is then rolled to a circular shape; the circular portion is cut from the extrusion; the free ends are connected, and the external tab is removed.
