摘要： Single and multiple allergy skin testing devices with rigid annular pain-reduction structures supported by respective compressible sleeves. Each rigid annular pain-reduction structure presses against skin before and while at least one corresponding sharp probe presses against the skin surrounded by the rigid annular pain-reduction structure, thereby causing a surrounding pain gate effect to reduce perceived pain due to the at least one sharp probe. Each allergy skin testing device includes: a central post having a sharp portion, a longitudinal portion, and a guide portion; a compressible structure having a leading portion, a resilient compressible portion, and a base portion; and a rigid annular probe portion having an annular skin-contacting surface. The surrounding pain gate effect is activated when the annular skin-contacting surface is pressed against the skin before and while the one or more sharp probes are pressed against the skin surrounded by the annular skin-contacting surface to administer allergen.

摘要： An allergy skin testing device includes a central post having a sharp portion, a longitudinal portion, and a guide portion. The sharp portion has one or more sharp probes extending longitudinally. The guide portion facilitates guiding the sharp portion towards the skin. The device also includes a compressible annular pain-reduction structure having an annular dull probe portion, a resilient compressible portion, and an optional base portion. The annular dull probe portion initially extends beyond the sharp portion, and has a passageway allowing passage of the sharp portion therethrough, the annular dull probe portion being configured to activate a surrounding pain gate effect (a “pain gate fence”) when pressed against the skin. The resilient compressible portion is configured to compress along the longitudinal portion of the central post. The base portion is configured to be pushed by the guide portion when the annular dull probe portion is pressed against the skin.

摘要： Treatment or prevention of oral allergy syndrome, or other allergy-related oral inflammatory processes using a topical preparation of at least one of a mast cell stabilizer and an antihistamine is disclosed. For example, the topical administration of Cromolyn Sodium prior to ingestion of raw fruits and raw vegetables may be used to prevent oral allergy symptoms. The topical administration can be performed by use of a solution, a powder, an aerosol, a tablet, a chewable tablet, a gel, a melting strip, a mouth rinse, a mouth swab, or a piece of candy, and may be combined with carrier molecules and/or mucoadhesive molecules to enhance efficacy.

摘要： Sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) with reduced oral itchiness is disclosed. The improved sublingual immunotherapy combines a monotonically increasing dose of allergen, along with a constant dose of mast cell stabilizer, thereby substantially avoiding the oral itchiness and other uncomfortable adverse reactions typically experienced with SLIT, which can improve patient compliance. An antihistamine and/or a leukotriene inhibitor can also be added along with the mast cell stabilizer. Multi-layer and/or coated tablets, and flexible paired ampoules with special features to advantageously time the dose of the allergen relative to the dose of the mast cell stabilizer, have been provided to effectively administer the improved sublingual immunotherapy in a highly convenient manner. Methods, preparations, and apparatuses for administration of SLIT, apparatus for sequentially dispensing, methods for producing a sequence of allergen doses with reduced adverse reactions, methods for producing a stock solution for dilution, and methods for producing cooperative pre-filled vials are also disclosed.
