    • A receiver (200) includes a mixing digital-to-analog converter (DAC) (208), a direct digital frequency synthesizer (DDFS), a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) (204) and a first polyphase filter (PPF) (202). The mixing DAC (208) includes a radio frequency (RF) transconductance section for providing an RF current signal responsive to an RF signal and a switching section. The switching section is coupled to the RF transconductance section and includes inputs for receiving bits associated with a digital local oscillator (LO) signal. The switching section is configured to mix the RF current signal with the digital LO signal to provide an analog output signal at outputs of the switching section. The transimpedance amplifier (TIA) (204) includes inputs each coupled to a respective one of the outputs of the switching section and outputs. The first PPF (202) includes inputs each coupled to a respective one the outputs of the TIA (204).

    • A method in which one of a high-side mix mode and a low-side mix mode is selected in response to an interference characteristic of a desired channel of a radio frequency (RF) input signal is disclosed. In the high-side mix mode, a direct digital frequency synthesizer (130) is initialized to output a digital local oscillator signal at a first frequency suitable for performing a high-side mix of the desired channel to an intermediate frequency (IF). In the low-side mix mode, the direct digital frequency synthesizer (130) is initialized to output the digital local oscillator signal at a second frequency suitable for performing a low-side mix of the desired channel to said IF. The RF input signal is mixed with the digital local oscillator signal to provide an IF output signal at the IF.

    • A system and method for updating and communicating traffic information to at least one receiving vehicle includes a traffic information center and at least one probe vehicle. In a preferred embodiment, major road sections are represented as links, the center stores and updates a parent map database of links that are associable with a first value of a condition, each probe vehicle is configured to receive a copy of the database either periodically or upon request, determine a second value of the condition, and compare the first and second values to determine a condition discrepancy. Where the discrepancy surpasses a threshold, each probe vehicle is further configured to upload at least the second value to the center, so as to update the parent map database.

    • The described principles provide a method and system for identifying a potentially closed road based on reroute requests, and of accommodating the potential road closure while continuing to test the road status periodically via routing decisions and rerouting requests. While the optimal route assumes that the potentially closed road is open, a replacement route is defined assuming that the potentially closed road is closed. A fraction of users are sent along the optimal route, and if a reroute request is received, the potentially closed road is assumed to be closed still. The affected user is rerouted to a recovery route that matches the optimal route up to the potentially closed road, and then differs from the optimal route thereafter to avoid the potentially closed road.
