An application can be generated by receiving a selection of a data source having a set of data objects, a selection of a data object to which data set from the data source is to be populated, selections of operations to be performed on the data object, a selection of a platform, and the selection of the data object. One or more metadata elements can be generated defining interactions with the data object of the data source and the interactive object on the platforms. The application can be generated from the one or more metadata elements.
