    • A sensor apparatus for a power bus including a current and a temperature includes a housing and one or more sensors. Each of the sensors is adapted to sense one of the current or the temperature of the power bus. A radio transceiver circuit is adapted to transmit a first wireless signal and to receive a second wireless signal. A processor is adapted to input the sensed current and the sensed temperature from the sensors and to output corresponding signals to the radio transceiver circuit in order to transmit the first wireless signal. A power supply is adapted to employ voltage produced by magnetically coupling the power bus to one or more coils, in order to power the sensors, the radio transceiver circuit and the processor from flux arising from current flowing in the power bus.

    • A three-pole circuit breaker is for a three-phase load circuit including three phases and a line cycle. The three-pole circuit breaker includes three poles, each of which includes a set of separable contacts for a corresponding one of the phases of the three-phase load circuit, and a current sensor adapted to determine a plurality of current samples for the corresponding one of the phases during the line cycle. An operating mechanism is adapted to open and close the sets of separable contacts. A trip mechanism cooperates with the operating mechanism and is adapted to determine three current values from the current samples of the poles during at least about one half of the line cycle and to analyze differences among the current values, in order to detect a phase-to-phase arcing fault or a phase-to-ground arcing fault, and to responsively trip open the sets of separable contacts.

    • A power supply for a control relay includes first and second voltage regulators having first and second operating ranges, respectively, and a switching mechanism. A rectified DC source voltage is provided to the first voltage regulator and the first voltage regulator converts it into a first DC voltage. The rectified DC source voltage is also provided to the switching mechanism which provides it to the second voltage regulator only when the switching mechanism is in a second condition. When the second voltage regulator receives the rectified DC source voltage, it converts it into a second DC voltage. The switching mechanism is adapted to be in a first condition when the rectified DC source voltage is greater than an upper threshold of the second operating range and in the second condition when the rectified DC source voltage is less than that upper threshold. At least one of the DC voltages is provided to the control relay.

    • A non-invasive underground arc fault detection apparatus is for an underground electrical conductor. The apparatus includes an electric circuit having an opening for admitting the electrical conductor therethrough. The electric circuit includes one or two transducers adapted to output a first signal representative of current flowing in the electrical conductor and a second signal. An arc fault detection circuit cooperates with the electric circuit to output a third signal derived from the first signal. The third signal is representative of an arc fault of the electrical conductor. An audible annunciator cooperates with the arc fault detection circuit to annunciate the third signal. A power supply cooperates with the electric circuit and is adapted to power the arc fault detection circuit and the annunciator from the second signal.
