摘要： The invention is an improvement over my copending application Ser. No. 951,569 filed Oct. 15, 1978 now U.S. Pat. No. 4,223,423, granted Sept. 23, 1980, and relates to a sealing device, which is particularly useful with a receptacle, such as a cloth bank bag for containing money or currency. The sealing device comprises a single strip or band of material made of metal or plastic and formed with teeth or serrations, which extend from one side of the band and includes locking projections engaging with the teeth or serrations in an improved manner for securing the band in its closed position. The locking teeth are stamped, or otherwise formed in the material near one end of the band, so that the other end of the band may be inserted through slits in the band, whereby a number of teeth engage with locking elements when the band is tightened around the neck of the bag. Movement of the end of the band is thereby prevented in the direction which would unlock the seal but is freely permitted in the other direction for the extent of the teeth so that a tight seal may be accomplished. Once sealed, the sealing device cannot be released without tearing or mutilating the bag material or damaging the sealing device.

摘要： A shipping container seal for joining two members having holes therein. The seal comprises a male member adapted to pass through the holes in one direction having an enlargement at one end to preclude the male member from slipping entirely through the hole. A female member cooperates with the male member to prevent retrograde motion. Once the male member and the female member are assembled, the female member has locking means cooperating with the male member to permit it to pass through the female member in one direction but precluding retrograde motion. The female member may comprise a plurality of inwardly extending projections or a plurality of half-barrel shaped inserts with spring means for retaining the half-barrel inserts in assembled relationship. A feature of the latter construction is the configuration of the spring means which includes a clip having first and second sections complementary to the half-barrel shaped inserts and a bridge including a roof portion which will expand and contract connecting the first and second sections. A further feature of the invention is the provision of a hood comprising a tubular housing for enclosing the male member and female member so as to prevent access thereto after the hood is assembled.

摘要： A sealing device which is particularly for use with a receptacle such as a cloth bank bag for containing money or currency, in which a single strip or band of material is formed of metal or plastic stamped with projections or serrations extending from one side of the band and wherein locking projections are stamped in the material near one end of the band, so that the other end thereof may be inserted through slits formed by oppositely facing panels in the one end of the band, whereby one or more of the serrations are engaged and locked by edges of the locking projections which are provided by one set of the panels when the strip is tightened around the neck of the bag. Movement of the ends of the strips is thereby prevented in a direction which would unlock the seal but is freely permitted in the other direction for the extent of the serrations so that a tight seal may be accomplished. The material adjacent the panels is provided with sets of inwardly extending spikes to engage the material of the bag when the sealing device is in place and tightened, so that the sealing device may not be removed from the bag without tearing or destroying the same and thus immediately providing evidence of tampering or attempted pilferage. In the construction disclosed, the projections or serrations extend from one side of the band toward the receptacle to be sealed, such as the neck of a bank bag, thus covering and concealing the locking mechanism of the locking device and frustrating attempts to tamper therewith.In addition, a pair of transverse protuberances are included on the undersurface of one end portion of the band. The protuberances, which are preferably rounded, facilitate the movement of the body portion when the sealing device is tightened around the bag and provide for a space therebetween which allows insertion of a sharp tool, for example a knife, to sever and remove the sealing device from the bag without cutting the fabric of the bag.

摘要： A sealing device for a receptacle such as a heavy cloth bank bag for containing money or currency in which a single strip or band of material formed of metal or plastic is stamped with projections or serrations extending from one side of the band and wherein a pair of locking projections in the form of raised panels are stamped in the material near one end of the band, so that the other flat end thereof may be inserted through slits formed by the stamped panels, whereby one or preferably more of the serrations are engaged and locked by the edges of the panels when the strip is tightened around the neck of the bag. Movement of the ends of the strips are thereby prevented in a direction which would unlock the seal but is freely permitted in the other direction for the extent of the serrations so that a tight seal may be accomplished. The material adjacent the locking panels is provided with sets of inwardly extending teeth at the top and bottom thereof to engage the material of the bag when the sealing device is in place and is tightened, so that the sealing device may not be removed from the bag without tearing or destroying the same and thus immediately provided evidence of tampering or attempted pilferage.

摘要： A double braided hollow rope assembly and method for making same wherein the rope consists of an inner hollow braided rope core and an outer braided rope jacket. The braid on the side of the outer jacket is opened and through that opening, a loop of the inner rope is pulled. A retaining ring with barbs formed thereon to engage the braids of the outer jacket is placed on the end of the rope to be spliced or formed into a loop or eye. The braid on the side of the inner core which has been pulled through the opening in the outer jacket is opened. The end of the rope with a retaining ring around it is inserted into the opening in the side of the hollow core of the inner rope. The outer jacket is then worked backwards until it once more covers the inner loop with the end of the rope with the retaining ring now contained within the hollow longitudinal central opening of the inner core. As an alternative, the end of the outer jacket may be retracted to thereby expose a few inches of the inner core which is then cut off and discarded. The outer jacket is then replaced in its normal position and the barbed retaining ring is applied to the jacket near its end where the core is now absent, whereupon the splicing and replacement of the jacket over the loop of the core is accomplished.
