摘要： An electric propulsion unit (102) for an aircraft is shown. A fan (202) produces a pressured airflow (P) by raising the pressure of an incident airflow (I). An electric machine (201) is arranged to drive the fan and is located within a casing (204). A primary cooling circuit (205) is located within the casing, and includes the electric machine and a first pass of a fluid-fluid heat exchanger (208), thereby placing the electric machine and the fluid-fluid heat exchanger in thermal communication. A secondary cooling circuit includes a second pass of the fluid-fluid heat exchanger and an air-fluid heat exchanger (210) located within the pressurised airflow produced by the fan, thereby placing the fluid-fluid heat exchanger and the air-fluid heat exchanger in thermal communication.

摘要： An electrical assembly 600 comprising an electrical raft 200 and an electronic unit 300 is provided to a gas turbine engine 10. The electrical raft 200 has electrical conductors 252 embedded in a rigid material 220, which may be a rigid composite material. The electrical conductors 252 are in electrical contact with the electronic unit 300. When the electronic unit 300 is installed, at least a part 310 of it forms a part of a gas-washed surface of the engine 10. The electronic unit 300 is then easily accessible from the engine 10, and potentially complex and/or heavy access doors/panels may not be required.

摘要： A gas turbine engine 10 is provided with rigid raft assemblies 290, which may be electrical harness raft assemblies 290 comprising electrical conductors embedded in a rigid composite material. The rigid raft assemblies 290 can be provided with engine dressings, such as pipework and ECUs to produce an electrical raft assembly. In order to assemble or dress the gas turbine engine 10, the rigid raft assemblies can be pre-prepared to incorporate at least a part of at least one gas turbine engine system/component before being installed on the gas turbine engine 10. During maintenance, whole raft assemblies can be removed and replaced with corresponding, pre-prepared assemblies. This can save considerable time during engine build and maintenance.

摘要： A gas turbine engine has a nacelle providing an external skin of the engine, a casing structure radially inwards of the external skin and providing an outer surface of an air flow duct of the engine, and plural engine components located in the bay formed between the casing structure and the nacelle. The components are part of either a first set of components or a second set of components. The components of the first set are all the components from the bay which are potential ignition sources, and the components of the second set are all the remaining components from the bay. The engine further has a container located in the bay, the container being fireproof capable of withstanding the application of heat by a standard flame for 15 minutes and the container containing the components of the first set.
