摘要： A lid for a container for storing a smokeless tobacco product includes a laterally-extending wall having opposing first and second surfaces and defining a periphery. The wall has a central axis extending perpendicularly to the first and second surfaces. A sidewall extends from the second surface substantially parallel to the central axis and about the periphery of the wall, with the wall and the sidewall being formed of a polymeric material. The lid also includes a metallic cladding engaged with the wall so as to extend laterally across the first surface.

摘要： A package that may be employed to store a tobacco-containing material is provided. The package may include a container and a valve assembly. The container may include a body portion and a cover configured to engage the body portion. The body portion may define an internal space therein. The valve assembly may be configured to affect an atmosphere within the internal space of the container. For example, the valve assembly may remain closed except when releasing pressure from the internal space. Thereby, by way of further example, the valve assembly may vent the container so as to avoid damage thereto, while reducing moisture loss from the tobacco-containing material stored in the internal space.

The lower body portion may include an intermediate bottom wall that may separate the lower body portion into upper and lower internal storage compartments. An environment modification material may be received in the lower internal storage compartment. The tobacco-containing material may be received in the upper internal storage compartment. The environment modification material may control humidity in the container to preserve the freshness of the tobacco-containing material and/or perform other functions. Vent channels cooperatively formed by the lower body portion and the upper cover may further contribute to humidity control.
