    • A modular jack connector comprises a housing (10), a plurality of terminals (20) received in the housing and a shield (30) enclosing the housing. The housing has a pair of sidewalls (101, 102), a bottom wall (103), a top wall (104) and a rear wall (105) together defining a receiving space (15) therebetween. The top wall defines an opening (12) in a front face thereof. The shield comprises a pair of side plates (301, 302), a top plate (304) and a rear plate (305) corresponding to the walls of the housing. The top plate defines a window (31) in a front edge thereof in communication with the opening and has a pair of opposite stoppers (32) extending into the window for engaging a latch (41) of a plug connector (40).

    • A modular jack connector (100) includes a housing (1) defining a cavity (15) in a front wall (14) thereof, a plurality of terminals (2) received in the cavity, a dustproof cover (3), and a shield (4). A pair of slots (142) is defined in the front wall and a pair of block portions (122) is formed on a top wall (11) of the housing. The dustproof cover comprises a main body (32) defining a channel (34) in its upper edge, a resilient fastener (36) extending from the main body (32), and a pair of pivots (38). The pivots are received in the slots and are retained in place by a front face (42) of the shield. An abutting portion (364) of the resilient fastener abuts the block portions in a closed position. A spring end portion (366) extending through the channel is depressed to open the closed dustproof cover.

    • An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing (1), a terminal module (2), a shielding shell (3), a pair of board locks (14) and a pair of rivets (13). The terminal module (2) is attached to the dielectric housing so that a plurality of terminals (4) extends through a mating projection (8) of the housing. The shielding shell encloses the mating projection. The board locks are fixed to both ends of the housing by the rivets. A resilient finger (143) is integrally formed with a corresponding board lock and contacts the shielding shell. Engaging legs (142) of the board locks are adapted to mount to a printed circuit board and connect with a grounding trace of the printed circuit board. Thus the shielding shell is electrically grounded to the grounding traces via the fingers of the board locks.
