    • A device for dilating either a vessel within a body or a structure positioned within the vessel is designed so that it does not occlude or substantially hinder the flow of blood through the vessel, thereby decreasing the windsock effect in blood vessels by maintaining fluid flow through the device during dilation. The device includes a plurality of wires that can be expanded from a first position wherein the device can be moved into or retrieved from the vessel, to a second position wherein it dilates the vessel or structure. When dilated, blood or other bodily fluid passes through the openings between the wires rather than being blocked.

    • Non-occlusive modeling catheters including a dilation device for expanding an endoprosthesis implanted in a vessel are disclosed. In an embodiment, a modeling catheter includes a device comprising a plurality of compliant wires braided in a double overlapping pattern and having a length spanning between a proximal end of the device and a distal end of the device, wherein the device is positioned in at least a portion of an endoprosthesis implanted in a vessel, wherein, when the device is in a relaxed state, a plurality of spaces are formed between the plurality of wires to allow fluid to move freely through the plurality of spaces, and wherein, when the device is in a dilated state, the plurality of wires are sufficiently designed to exert a radial force on the endoprosthesis while continually allowing the fluid to move freely through the plurality of spaces.

    • The present invention provides a system for directing a first guidewire in a retrograde direction in a blood vessel and for directing a second guidewire in an antegrade direction in a blood vessel. The system includes a dual-lumen obturator having a first lumen leading to a first obturator opening and a second lumen leading to a second obturator opening, and a sheath having a first end having a first sheath opening, a second end having a second opening, a sheath lumen extending from the first end to the second end, and a third sheath opening between the first end and the second end. The first, second, and third sheath openings are in communication with the lumen. A first guidewire is directed through the first lumen and through the second sheath opening in a retrograde direction in the blood vessel, while a second guidewire is directed through the second lumen and through the third sheath opening in an antegrade direction in a blood vessel.
