摘要： Techniques are disclosed for determining whether to grant a user access at an access control point of a transit system based on information about a user associated with a fare media from one or more information sources. These techniques can include receiving an authorization response after attempting to authorize payment from a fare media, and accessing at least one information source. This can include accessing historical information regarding prior transactions in the transit system made with the fare media. A determination can then be made whether to grant a user access at the access control point of the transit system.

For example, associating a primary account number (PAN) and/or other information received from a contactless payment card's contactless interface with a PAN obtained from a magnetic stripe of the contactless payment card. 摘要： Embodiments of systems, methods, and machine-readable media are disclosed for enabling a uniquely-identifiable item as fare media in a transit system. Embodiments generally include collecting a unique identifier from the item, and sending the unique identifier, and other data, to a virtual fare device. The virtual fare device can use the unique identifier to access historical and/or other information associated with the unique identifier, calculate a fare, and/or update the information in a manner similar to how a physical fare device updates information on physical fare media, such as a stored-value card. The virtual fare device then can send data, such as priced transaction data including fare information, to other systems and/or servers of the transit system for further processing.
