At least one surface of the paper web is moistened with at least one pre-moisturizer, whereafter the paper web is guided to the first calender nip of the first set of rolls and one surface of the paper web is moistened with at least one intermediate moisturizer, whereafter the paper web is guided to the first calender nip of the second set of rolls, wherein a paper web having a roughness of 1.0-1.1 μm and/or gloss of 54-57% or 56-60% is produced as a result of calendering.

摘要： The moisture profile and/or moisture gradient of a paper web of at least SC quality paper is controlled in a paper machine comprising a calender (1) which has at least two roll stacks (21, 22; 31, 32), one stack has at least three rolls and another has at least five rolls. The web is moisturized to a desired pre-moisture content M1 by a pre-moisturizer (7) before the calender. At least one intermediate moisturizer (3) is arranged between two roll stacks moisturizes the web to a desired intermediate moisture content M2 before the last roll stack (31, 32), in which the web is dried to a desired final moisture value M3. For continuously controlling and optimizing the moisture profile and/or moisture gradient of the web, the pre-moisturizing W1 of the web is controlled by a pre-moisturizer (7) control parameter which corresponds to the final moisture value M3 of the web.

摘要： A processing device and a method applying the same for processing a coated or uncoated fibrous web is provided. The device comprises a belt configured to extend around a guiding element, at least one counter-element being disposed outside said belt to provide a contact area with the belt, such that the belt and the counter-element establish therebetween a web processing zone for passing a web to be processed therethrough. The processing zone length is defined by the disposition of the belt's guiding element and/or by the design of the counter-elements. A contact pressure applied to a web in the processing zone is configured to be within the range of between about 0.01 MPa and about 70 MPa.

A flow of the coating paste flows down at least one of the interior walls of the enclosed space, thereby collecting excess coating paste aerosol and providing a seal between the web and the walls of the enclosed space. By providing this seal, the amount of excess coating paste aerosol escaping from the enclosed space and the amount of air travelling along the surface of the web are both reduced, thereby increasing the quality of the applied coating.

摘要： A method and arrangement for computing and regulating distribution of linear load in a multi-nip calender. A material web is passed through the nips in a set of rolls including a variable-crown upper roll, a variable-crown lower roll and intermediate rolls positioned between the upper and lower rolls. The rolls in the set of rolls are supported so that, when the nips are closed, the bending lines of the rolls are curved downwards. When computing and regulating the linear loads, one or more of the physical properties affecting the bending of each intermediate roll under load, such as bending rigidity, mass, shape, and material properties, are taken into account. The ratio of the linear loads applied to the intermediate rolls, the weight of the rolls per se, and/or the support forces applied to the rolls are regulated so that the set of rolls is in a state of equilibrium and a predetermined state of deflection.
