摘要： A vehicle overhead audio system, an electromagnetic transducer assembly for use therein and a computer system programmed with a graphic software control for changing the audio system's signal level and delay are provided where a headliner of the vehicle is a loudspeaker of the system thereby replacing many other loudspeakers and being invisible to the occupants. The headliner is driven in multiple zones that effect proper imaging for all occupants. Supplemental high frequency and subwoofer speakers and signal processing circuitry are included in one aspect of the invention.

摘要： A loudspeaker has a cooling system in which a pole portion has a shorting ring made of non-magnetic conductive material that stabilizes magnetic field to reduce distortion of sound and a heat dissipation plate that couples to the shorting ring to facilitate efficient dissipation of heat. The heat generated by a voice coil of the loudspeaker is transmitted to the shorting ring and is conducted to the heat dissipation plate which acts as a heat sink to allow the heat dissipation. A multiplicity of shorting rings may be provided to further reduce impedance modulation, each of which is coupled to the heat plate. The heat dissipation plate has a gap in an axial direction of the loudspeaker to prevent an electric current in the shorting ring from flowing through the heat dissipation plate.

The spider may also incorporate more than one plane of lateral stiffness to improve the loudspeakers tendency for voice coil rocking. An additional embodiment details a frame with generic mounting edge that mates with a secondary mounting flange that includes product specific requirements. The frame and mounting flange are separated by an outer section of the diaphragm suspension annulus that serves as vibration isolation. An additional outer section of the annulus can serve as a gasket to the mounting structure.
